Royal PIA using Rakuten with AliExpress

It is a royal PIA using Rakuten and AliExpress especially if there were multiple shopping trips. This is because there is no way of tracing shopping trip #s to order numbers. Rakuten shows CashBack in your local currency but tracks the sales in USD$.

I made 6 shopping trips that resulted in 6 different orders on AliExpress. Rakuten captured all the shopping trips but only credited me for the last 3 orders the cheapest of the 6 orders. Of the missing 3 orders one of them has shipped already.

I have given up using AE coupons they are not worth the hassle

Recently AE coupon codes for their major sales are not worth the hassle if you have a bunch of relatively $20 CAD or less items. Even if every item has Coupon Eligible when I go to use AE coupon like $4 off $30 CAD AE tells me one or more of the items in your cart are not eligible. Heaven forbid they tell you which item(s) it is. I may have several items some of which could be less than $10 and need to order all of them to get "free" shipping. Recently I just gave up trying to use these coupons.

The same with coupon codes that some AE influences have on their YouTube channel. I try them here in Canada and AE simply throws up a useless error messages.

Why does Brave update randomly enable extensions

I was using Brave earlier today. Closed the browser. Later I started the browser back up and apparenly it updated to Brave 1.93.129 (Official Build) (64-bit) because I seen a notification about search tab change.

I proceeded to open all the tabs and login to my accounts including BlueSky site. It refused to display the feed and wanted me to loging but kept throwing an error about unable to connect to the service. I then proceeded to spend the next 30+ minutes trying to figure out what was going on.

I discovered the cause. Brave and the update process decided for some reason to enable uMatrix and old extension that I used to use before Adblock Origin but has been disabled in Brave for years. uMatrix was blocking access to BlueSky and another social site. Disabling uMatrix fixed the issue. I have since removed uMatrix.

I have other extensions that I only enable if I need to use them infrequently and this is not the first time I have seen Brave enable extensions for some reason.

Why are Brave desktop menus so much of a PIA

I have used Brave browser on Windows for years and the menus are such a PIA to find a particular page.

I wanted to delete cookies from a particular website. I entered "cookies" in the search box and saw no results for want I needed. I had to ask AI how I can get to the particular page in Brave and it gave me brave://settings/content/all.

It seems with Brave you have to keep a list of these short URLS in order to get to the particular page quickly with spending 10 mins trying to navigate the regular UI.
