To Trinket or To Not

Hey ya’ll! Wasn’t sure what to caption this w BUT…

I love a trinket. I sure do. However, I’m trying to move away from ever having to place an amazon order again lol so good bye tiny plastic creatures.

I remember getting a post card last year to write a letter to Luigi Mangione which was so great… so I’m curious- what’s the best non-trinket gift you’ve received at a show/fest? 🧙

Admin Training for Tech Development?

Hey everyone!

Happy humpday 🥳

I’ve been in my role for about 5 years now, and we’ve grown exponentially as an organization. Such a cool thing to be apart of, but on the other side of the coin- scalability is definitely on the brain haha and I’m not sure we’ve mastered that.

We all work remotely, so I’ve been the go-to support system for many, plus one of the youngest in the office. Basically means I’m usually spending the day fixing, supporting, or maintaining digital projects because of (for lack of a better work) lack of computer literacy. I understand excel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, nor does everyone really need to know how to use it- but it has been quite an undertaking of managing everyone’s little questions day in and day out.

Back to scalability, I’m honestly concerned about some users tech knowledge when it comes to M365, hot keys etc that very well could save them hours of time.

I’m deciding if it is worth bringing to the attention of my executive to perhaps put in place a technical development training course here. Not just “how we do this process” but rather “here’s how you can use these tools we provide to find a better one”.

Does anybody have any suggestions on:

  1. Trainings that exist for cases like these?
  2. How to present to my executive without sounding like a whiny asshat haha

TYIA! If I sound crazy, please let me know hahah.

Curious to hear your perspectives on if this is seen in other teams, and/or how you may have handled it.

I’ve been an EA for 6 years now with this one organization, our org has a decent turnover rate and I’ve supported a few different C-Suite members. But one sticks out time and time again. This member never picks up a finger, unlike the rest of the C Suite staff. This member won’t even open the quarterly report deck, then asks me what or why this is on their slides… our own President even adds their own information for these meetings. To note, I have never directly reported to this person, nor has it been spoken to me this is part of my duties.

It’s come to a point where I can’t tell if I’m crazy or if they are. I don’t want to seem like I’m throwing a fit, but how can I politely navigate away from this as being the status quo? I don’t want to keep being thrown under the bus for doing a task that I don’t feel I should be doing in the first place, but then again, maybe this is normal in some regard?

Hello fellow OCs!

I (26F) have found love on the big ole moving rock, and I’m so excited to make life plans with them.

I’ve only shared a space with my parents, and have lived alone for the past 3 years. My partner and I have been discussing the future of our housing situations, debating if we want to rent buy a house etc…. and I’m curious….

As someone who requires a bit more alone time, how did you navigate going from living alone/not sharing a space, to living with your partner? Communication isn’t going to be a problem, but I have a steady career working from home which has made me even more aware of what a shared space might look like.

Would love to hear about creative living situations, bonus points if your social battery can, also, never seem to pass 40% lol. I require a lot of alone time, and am trying to gear myself for a future with.. less of that lol. Love and light!
