Wife isn’t home….
Wife lands in a few hours. Got just enough time to get in some work before finishing chores 😬

Patiently waiting for Wager’s RMR cut/plate to be back in stock. For now, the adapter will have to do.
Took the opportunity to practice beyond my comfort level (20 & 30 yards). Also gave me the chance to see if I wanted to commit to a RMR cut for my P-01. Was running a 507k ACSS on the k-footprint, cut by Wager. Safe to say I’ll be saving up some $$ and sticking with the bigger optic. So much easier on my old eyes.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t at the outdoor range. Always conceal carry at the indoor range. Just asking questions. 😏
The Ruger RXM turned 1076ish rounds old today. No failures, tons of fun, and doesn’t complain about the botched paint job I attempted.
It got a complete tear down and cleaning. I did manage to forget to install a piece, so…..😂
Shot some IDPA today. Clearly did not do a deep dive in the rule book so picked up some procedural errors here and there. All good though. Still was a blast getting some practice in and being outside!!
Last USPSA event showed that I need to work on trusting my sights and getting faster/efficient shooting doubles.
Also focused on:
- not trying to fight recoil
- locking wrists to help with return to zero
- managing cadence as distances change.
Another fun USPSA event in the books. Ended the day with 125 alphas, 3 charlies, and 1 mike (lost track of my shot count after an unplanned reload). But….spent over four minutes total shooting 🫣. Wheels came off early and struggled to find the dot and trust my sight picture (again). Plus reload and stage plans went to 💩 a few times. All good though. Another great opportunity to be out on the range learning, practicing, and outdoors! Goal for next event…go fast and see what happens!!
Spent a lot of time on lots of target set up, transition drills, and farting around at the range yesterday. In hindsight, got the most out of basic straight forward drill practice. Need to remember that for the next visit.
Well…I didn’t trip, drop a mag, get DQ’d, or miss 🥳.
Growth areas - Have to work on trusting my sight picture and sending the round! Way too much time over confirming. AND!!! I took 8 reshoots. Pretty sure six of those were unwarranted. Caught myself tracking the dot instead of remaining target focused, so doubted a few of my hits.
Oh well. Gotta know what went wrong to make it right next time.
Keep forgetting how much fun the 88 is! I need to prioritize some time working on stance and reloads. Gotta get that mule kick under control too.
Always a blast spending time with family. Never fails. Easy going fun turns into competition quickly 😂
After extensive testing (58ish minutes) and an astonishing 180 (plus or minus) rounds using 115g steel ammo, the winner is…. don’t care, had some fun today. Definitely need to spend a few range days working on distance shooting.
* Rapid cadence was @ 7yds
Some days you don’t. Ruger RXM from 3-25 yards a couple weeks ago. And from 20 yards yesterday. Just couldn’t get comfortable. Shot multiple trigger systems prior to finishing with the RXM. Great start to the day but terrible finish.
Took advantage of an extra hour tonight and practiced some fundamentals. Good times.
