My suppressed 75SA, optic cut and plate done by vigilante machine. Highly recommend. Just a cool gun.
Was planning on shooting my S2C this weekend and figured I would strip it down & do a quick clean/lube so it would be ready. Broken recoil spring. Called CZ customer service and they said to fill out the warranty claim on website an replacement would be sent out asap.
Been making a bunch of this style holster for 1911s lately. My wife wants a Shadow 2 so I was just wondering if a leather holster of this design would be interesting to Shadow owners?
I’ve been wanting to purchase a pistol for a long time have done a ton of research taken a class and settled on p01 as being the best choice for my first pistol. Picking it up soon but I had some questions. Forgive me if any of these questions are ignorant, I’m still learning
I want to carry daily. Since I’m new I think 4 o clock iwb is a good start but on researching I see a lot of conflicting information about this gun sometimes being tricky to carry if you don’t have high quality holster and belt. I ride a motorcycle frequently and want to be comfortable.
Does anyone have recommendations on good quality belts and holsters for this gun? Can you go into detail on how good it handles printing/sagging and if there’s anything else I should know? I’m willing to spend if it’s worth it.
Just want to preference that beyond the abysmal experience with Premier Weapon Innovations it remained rather civil. Extreme disappointment aside, this is only to warn the community of my experience from this custom shop in SOCAL.
After my initial post ( https://www.reddit.com/r/CAguns/s/LHzp9DlTYh ) a few weeks regarding my dilemma with my failed CZ Shadow 2 customization project I contacted the shop to follow up. I was told to just send my contact information for a cash payout for the value of the matched Shadow 2 slide. Assuming he wasn’t able to obtain a replacement or didn’t want to I refused the money. The shop is an FFL, they had a better opportunity to replace the part than I would, beyond the bigger issue of finding replacement slides for CZ which are next to impossible right now.
Put in another dilemma I had asked if the funds were being paid and if the original slide was going to be returned and he refused…….
Either I accept my slide back unfinished or the cash, he stated he considered the matter closed if I didn’t. Both options were not great. Money or not, if he wasn’t able to get one, neither could I and I’d be literally left without a functioning firearm. So I very begrudgingly accepted the ruined slide back.
Upon unboxing my slide I found the front sight was missing, assuming it was removed for milling and not included in the box. I can just ask for it back hopefully he ships it, no big deal right?
All was well after a few back and forth messages he agreed to mail it to me. And upon receiving the paper envelope it was also missing…… A small, sharp metal part shipped not in a proper bubble mailer or wrapped in bubble wrap but a thin standard paper envelope.
Yup, it punched a hole right in it and is now gone as well. Sent a picture all he said was “it was in there when I shipped it”, I have some kind words in mind that I wish I could use but I rather keep it cool.
This has been without a doubt the worst experience I’ve ever had in every way without question, company, service, anything! I made this follow up to warn the community about this shop and owner as even when directly responsible for the TERRIBLE work the owner had poured more salt in the wound and did so unapologetically.
Hope you guys have better luck than me, I regret every decision I made following my acquisition of my brand new CZ 😭
TL;DR Primary Machine fixed my cerakote, it looks way better with no chips or flecks. It did take longer than what was communicated to get the slide sent back to me, but overall I'm happy with the work and would recommend Primary Machine.
I made a post a few weeks back where I asked the community about the milling + cerakote job on my P-01. I had spots where flecking had occurred after minimal handling and I asked the community if it was normal, news flash: it was not.
I contacted the shop, Primary Machine, and asked about the chipping. They assured me it was not normal. The last two photos show that the front sight block had completely chipped off, and the left rear of the slide had a chip missing near the slide rails. They got me a label the next day, I had it in the mail to them the day after.
I am chalking up the cerakote issue to the color I chose and, perhaps, unfamiliarity with applying it. The FX colors, particularly the pearlescent colors, require applying a second layer of cerakote on top of the first layer, which can be applied too thickly if not done carefully. It is likely this is what happened, and is generally less of an issue with more popular, single cerakote colors.
The good: the gun looks way better. No chipping, there's a small bit of holster wear on the right leading edge of the slide as I've been practicing draws with it but that's to be expected. The colors are also richer, the green shines more brightly at angles and the purple is a darker tone, so I think this second go was a success.
The RMRcc is also solidly on there, I have yet to put the sight through its paces, but I am not seeing any issues with how the optic is mounted. I have had issues with other companies, so this is a welcome change.
The company was also very responsive with my issue. I had no problem getting in contact with them, working through the problem with them, and getting return labels back from them. The armorer who worked on my slide was also my service rep, and he did a great job communicating with me for the most part, which brings me to...
The bad: took a week for the recoat to get done. I was told it would be turned around in two days, it took eight days after arriving before it was shipped, and I needed to check in on the recoat since I hadn't heard anything after it arrived. This isn't the end of the world to me, but it did turn a 7.5 week turn around time (11 days in transit) to an almost 11 week turn around time (22 days in transit, 4 days in my possession).
My initial review for Primary Machine is a 9/10. It would be 10/10 if it wasn't for the delay in turn around time for the recoat. I work in a high volume sales environment and I struggle to get everything followed up with in a timely manner, so I understand if there is a delay. It is important to proactively communicate when you do have a delay and what the new turn around is when you're in that situation; I feel that if I hadn't reached out again to ask what the status of my slide was, it could have easily sat there for another week or so. The armorer did turn it around the day I asked about it, but I don't think it would have happened had I not emailed about it.
That being said, the slide looks frickin cool. The Cerakote Mardi Gras FX gives the pistol such a unique look, and I'm working on getting some grips that will overall match the slide's color scheme better. The optic seems very solidly mounted, and the controls are all working as expected. I do recommend sending your slide CZ slide to Primary Machine to be milled for an optic, I only hope that Primary Machine seems my feedback and uses it to create an even better experience for their customers.
I hope to do a follow up after I get 1000 rounds through the pistol, I'll take new pics to show how the finish has worn. I will be carrying this pistol, and I'm excited for it's bright colors to shine in the colder months.
For anyone wondering, the gun has the CGW Pro Package installed by yours truly. I wasn't comfortable stoning the flats, so I am letting them wear in naturally.
Just picked this up. Came with original grips and 2 extended mags. Didn't come with the short mag unfortunately but I'm okay with that. The extendo fits my hand perfectly. All praise CZ. For my next purchase the Shadow 2.
Anyone shoot USPSA with a Carry or a compact? I’m trying to get a belt together and it’s seeming to be more difficult than I thought. Looking for some opinions from people with experience
To all the guys that own the TS2 Orange 9mm: what does the gun weigh with an inserted empty magazine?
I am thinking about buying one but it needs to also be approved for our competition regulations.
I‘ve read different weights online ranging from 1350g to 1450g which would make a difference for me.
So if someone could throw a stock TS2 Orange on a scale and share the real weight it would be awesome!
Thanks
It was my first pistol and after getting more it ended up on the shelf for a few years. I took it out recently and I forgot just how damn good it is and would like to jazz it up some.
Are there any optic ready slides out there? Let’s see what everyone else’s S looks like. I need some inspiration
Drew rocks. That is all. Nobody else’s paws touch my slides.
This is a backup Carry Optics slide for Majors.
what do you think of this port job from local gunsmith here in philippines ? do i need to lower the recoil spring weight?
First range day with my new P-09C. Ran through about 50 rounds on a previous box of Blazer 115g FMJ. Absolutely flawless and amazing.
Then swapped over to a brand new box of Winchester Target 115g FMJ. Went through about 45 rounds perfectly fine. Then all of a sudden I didn't see anything hit my new target sticker...try racking the slide. Nothing. Finally open it up and powder is everywhere. Squib. RSO had to come bring a rod and punch it out.
Went home and field stripped it. Hit everything with an air gun to get all the powder out of things. But I'm pretty concerned about the potential of a barrel bulge. I can't see anything crazy though. Everything looks to be perfectly fine. Any advice on what to do? I did contact Winchester with the box lot number. Waiting on a response.
Little bit of backstory. I picked up a Shadow 2 back in March and planned to replace my P10F with it for USPSA competition. I struggled to really get a good, confident, consistent grip on it for a while and eventually ended up with a set of Magmo grips. Even then, I felt like I had to shift how I gripped the gun vs my P10’s , P365 and other pistols to be confident in my grip.
I then started developing some elbow pain during/after dryfire but just kinda pushed through it. Eventually it got so bad a couple months ago that I stopped dryfire entirely and have been working on some PT exercises/ weight lifting to try and get things better. It’s mostly healed now and hurt day to day anymore.
Tonight I was going to try and work in some light dryfire to see how ready i’ll be for an upcoming competition in 2 weeks. I could barely get 3-4 reps in before my elbow joint/forearm was absolutely burning with pain. Switched back to my P10F out of curiosity and it was completely fine. I could draw, work from low ready, transition between targets, etc, all relatively pain free.
Obviously the weight difference between the two probably plays some part. But i’ve never really gotten 100% comfortable with my grip on the shadow 2 and I’m wondering if my body’s basically telling me “this ain’t for you bro”. Which sucks, because I do really like the way it shoots otherwise, trigger is fantastic, recoil is basically nonexistent, and it’s a tack driver accuracy wise. I just can’t help but think I’m trying to pound a square peg in a round hole and make it work for me.
Idk, has anyone else ran into this issue with their Shadow 2 and/or other guns? Should I keep trying to make it work or just accept the Shadow 2 isn’t for me and sell it/move on (likely back to the P10F).
Decided to grab a P-09c Nocturne since I’ve been feeling the suppressed hammer-fire experience lately. Took it to the range for the first time and by the end of the second mag I had a blister started. Skin is getting pinched between the trigger and trigger guard. Is this because of the shape of the trigger, or how far back you have to pull it, or some combo? I tried adjusting which part of the finger I was using to pull but just couldn’t get away from it biting.
What are my options for fixing this? Gun shot fantastic and loved it with the Mojave 9 and Shiv on there, but the bite got worse each shot. This is a first for me, don’t have this problem with any of my other guns.
Sent out my slide on August 4th, Drew received it on the 7th, and he was done on the 13th. I received it on the 14th after asking Drew if he could expedite the shipping and he was more glad to. I highly recommend Vigilante Machine if you need your CZ optic cut.
