Advice for carrying a LOT of rebar manually

This is a bit of a random question that I’m hoping you guys, being of the practical sort, might be able to help me out with. I need to move approx 1.5-1.6 metric tonnes of 2.4m long pieces of rebar (525 lengths) up a hill as the delivery truck cannot make it up there. I’m not opposed to hard work, and will unfortunately be forced to carry this myself, approximately 100m.

I’m looking for any suggestions as to how I might be able to make this as efficient as possible.

I wish I could get machinery involved, but I’m afraid that’s not feasible where I am.

My initial thought is some form of shoulder strap or harness to move as much weight as possible onto my shoulders and back to minimise the nr of round trips.

Thoughts?

These are stakes for a small vineyard I’m planting for context.

So that’s annoying.

Whoever assembled my brand new Acadia left a hair on the dial… returned it and getting a substitute, but that’s a bummer. Anyone else experienced this?

Just purchased this bad boy

Can’t wait to receive it, but I’m not convinced I’m going to be a huge fan of the strap. Anyone have any suggestions / alternatives they can show off for inspiration?

Does Substack treat your content differently based on milestones?

I write a newsletter about wine and viticulture, which is a pretty small niche adjacent to the foodie community. My growth has been remarkably steady with both free and paid subscription growing between 4-6% per month, which creates a nice 45 degree (ish) upwards trajectory for my stats. I am approaching the 1k free sub mark and was wondering whether anyone has noticed any particular behaviour from the algorithm in how it makes your content visible depending on certain thresholds, whether that is free or paid subscriptions. At 41 paid subs I’m some way off the “bestseller tick” but expect to get there eventually.

Curious to hear your thoughts / experiences.

Down The Rabbit Hole - Substack [Self Promo]

Shameless little plug for you fine folk. If you’re interested in wine or just looking to learn a bit more about it, I write a weekly newsletter with deep dives on a range of topics both aimed at the wine industry and consumers. In particular I love the viticultural side of things and will go into depth on various aspects of how grapes are grown, regenerative practices, new research and winemaking practices that impact how your wines express themselves.

Down the Rabbit Hole: A Beginner’s Guida to Wine

Hi guys, having written a lot about wine on my substack, I figured I’d take a shot at writing a beginner’s guide to wine that might bridge the gap between the often lacking 101 guides available, and the plethora of material aimed at the already initiated. It proved a surprisingly difficult task, but I hope the result is something that you might benefit from, or if you’re already well versed in wine, might share with someone that’s interested to learn more about wine.

Would also love your feedback!

And what did you drink before then? Just curious as everyone must start somewhere, and I suspect that those that get bitten by the bug as it were tend to have come across an aha-wine, even if not super fancy.

How did you approach wine before this wine?
