What do I pack in a med bag for CDMX?

Going to Mexico City in October and while I’ll do my best to take the right safety precautions when it comes to food, I’d love to be prepared. What should I pack in a med bag that will address any tummy troubles that may come my way?

Is there a way to replace carpet pieces?

I’m a renter and I really messed up parts of the carpet in the bedroom. Basically it started as a tear, and then one day while vacuuming, it totally just unraveled like crazy. I covered it and decided I would deal with it later, but THEN my rabbit one day decides that she suddenly likes chewing that one piece that was already messed up (she’s otherwise not interested in carpet, which is a shocker). Is there a way to replace parts of it myself if I found the exact same carpet?

Need tips for new grad starting first AM shift alone?

I saw someone ask the same question for PM shift, and found the answers to be super helpful.

I just graduated, had 3 days of orientation at a SNF I was just hired at, and have my first AM shift alone next week. The orientation days were helpful, but each CNA I shadowed did things so differently, and the facility is really big. They were also very seasoned, so things moved quickly and many of the CNAs were not native English speakers so it was hard to get all my questions answered.

I'm SO nervous. Not necessarily because of the tasks that need to be done, but because I don't know any of the residents and they don't know me so there really isn't trust and rapport there yet. I'm trying to prep by writing up a schedule for myself, but would love any tips or even what your typical "plan of attack" is for AM so I don't mess things up, more importantly, mess things up for a resident just because I'm a newbie. I'm only part-time/on-call, so I will just have to get used to not knowing residents super well, but I wish there were more detailed reports on their personal preferences and schedules.

First Day Tomorrow!

I’m starting a new job at a local SNF tomorrow! I know it won’t be very glamorous, but I’m excited to officially change careers. I graduated a couple months ago, so I’m a little nervous I won’t remember everything or that they’ll just do everything differently here vs where I did clinicals.

I anticipate I’ll be on this subreddit more looking for support haha. I would love any encouraging words / positive experiences as a CNA 🙏

Looking for a Puffy Sleeve Scoop Neck Dress Pattern

I’d love to make this on repeat- this Doen example is just so very expensive and is the style I’m always reaching for.

Please let me know if anyone is familiar with a pattern. I consider myself a beginner, but I’m open to working on a project to practice and improve my skills.

Honeymoon Stays & Eats

Hello! I saw some similar but older posts and would love any recs for stays, eats, and anything for our belated honeymoon in October! We’re from California, mid 30s, we like food and art, but are introverts so more on the convenience/intimate side of things. We don’t travel often, but when we do, we like to splurge on hotels since a reliable home base is super important to us when traveling. Budget is open and we’re planning on a 5 night stay. Our Spanish is not great, but we’re learning! We’ve never been to Mexico and were initially leaning into smaller boutique places, but saw that reliable hot water can be a concern. I appreciate any and all help- we’re super excited!

Listing Work through Apps on Resumes

For those who grab shifts on apps like Nursa or Clipboard, how do you note that work experience on your resume?

I’m a new grad, and I'm not quite able to get a full-time CNA job at this moment, but I need the experience. Nursa and Clipboard seem like avenues that could allow me to get that experience with some scheduling flexibility, but I'm not sure how that would be listed on resumes. Any advice?

I just interviewed for a CNA position as a new grad and they barely asked me anything — is that a red flag or pretty common?

Just got out of an interview I spent quite a bit preparing for, only to be asked 1 question (why I want to be a CNA)? I’m new to healthcare, so not sure what to think. Everything otherwise seemed fine.
