Made some modifications to my New 3DS (non-XL). I know people love the skittle buttons but I personally like the clean look of basic black buttons with white letters.

I used an extra set of joy con buttons I had lying around. Had to make some minor adjustments to them by using a pair of wire cutters to get the buttons to fit.

Bought a black circle pad from AliExpress to replace the stock grey one.

I replaced the grey c-stick nub with a 3D printed one I found online. Also purchased a Thinkpad trackpoint nub that is custom made for the 3DS. I like both but slightly prefer the 3D printed one because it’s slightly bigger, is slightly concave so it feels a bit nicer when placing my thumb on it and it fits the all black theme. The Thinkpad’s rubbery textured surface does feel nice though.

I 3D printed face plates and at first didn’t like the sparkly texture but grew to love it as it added a bit of grip to the device when holding it and it doesn’t pick up finger prints.

I personally like my devices black and plain so these mods fit my personal preferences.
