Dating in Germany as Indian

Hi all

I think I know the comments, Indian guys have a really bad reputation in terms of dating. I feel that too so that's why I never tried to date or even hangout with anyone. But I would love your opinions on how things can be improved or will it remain the same. Maybe it can help someone in the future.

26M, Indian in Europe — can cook, overthinks and sleeps

I’m 26, from India, living in Europe. I work a normal job, pay my bills, and somehow still end up awake at 2am thinking about random life decisions and whether I should learn something new or just watch another episode.

Here’s the actual version of me:

* I cook proper Indian food (not just “I followed a YouTube video once”) — if we get along, you’re getting fed

* I’m the kind of person who’ll remember how you take your coffee or what you said weeks ago

* I act calm, but my humor is slightly unhinged once I’m comfortable

* I will absolutely take fries off your plate and pretend it’s normal

My routine is pretty balanced — work, some time to myself, sometimes going out, sometimes doing absolutely nothing and enjoying it. I like conversations that aren’t forced. Silence is fine too.

What I’m looking for:

Someone who actually replies, has opinions, and doesn’t disappear mid-conversation. You don’t need to be super extroverted — just someone who’s a bit curious, a bit self-aware, and not afraid of getting to know someone properly.

Bonus points if:

* you can recommend music that’s not basic

* you laugh at dumb things

* you don’t mind a bit of sarcasm

If you message me, skip “hey” — tell me:

what’s something small you’re weirdly particular about

Worst case, we have a good conversation. Best case… we steal each other’s fries.

26M M4F from Europe - trying this instead of another dating app

Alright, this feels awkward, but probably no more awkward than dating apps, so here we go.

I’m 26, living in Europe (fyi I'm not a European), and I guess I’m just looking to meet someone normal and see where it goes. Not trying to force anything, but also not into the whole “talk for 2 days then disappear” thing.

About me: I’m pretty chill, a bit sarcastic, like dark humor, and I’m the kind of person who sends random stuff I find funny or interesting. I like being at home, but I’m not a complete hermit — I’m down for going out, walks, food, whatever. I’m not great at describing myself like this, honestly.

I don’t really have a “type.” Just be kind, have some personality, and be able to hold a conversation. That’s already rare enough.

If you’re around my age and this somehow didn’t scare you off, send me a message. No pressure, we can just talk and see if we get along.

That’s it!

Hey Reddit,

Figured I’d give this a shot — I’m a 26-year-old guy, and I’m looking to meet someone for a genuine connection that could turn into a relationship.

A bit about me:

I’d describe myself as pretty laid-back, thoughtful, and curious about the world. I enjoy a mix of staying in (movies, gaming, random deep conversations at 2am) and going out (exploring new places, nature walks, trying good food). I value honesty, humor, and being able to just be yourself around someone.

What I’m looking for:

Someone kind, open-minded, and emotionally mature. You don’t have to be perfect (I’m definitely not), but I appreciate good communication and someone who actually wants to build something meaningful. Bonus points if you enjoy both chill nights and spontaneous plans.

Age-wise, somewhere around 20–28 would probably make the most sense, but I’m flexible if we click.

If this sounds like your vibe, feel free to send me a message and tell me a bit about yourself 🙂

Let’s see where it goes.
