What are your favourite regional newspapers?

Despite residing in Toronto, The Toronto Star doesn't really appeal to me (politics, US, International conflicts,...).

Since through the library we have access to lots of Canadian newspapers just wondering if there's any you particularly like.

It'd be nice to have some idea of what's going on in other parts of Canada (interesting stories, not necessarily politics) and also some International coverage that isn't so conflict-driven or US-heavy like I find The Star.

I'm familiar with the National newspapers, but just looking for any good (interesting) regional papers.

Human diversity

God created Adam and Eve and we are all descendents of them.

Then how can you explain such diversity amongst humans? Black Africans, Indians, Japanese, Chinese Peruvians, Filipinos,.... How is such physical diversity possible when we believe in Creation and the Bible?

Hello! If your building is undergoing work to repair/improve all balconies and you will have noise disruptions and also lose the use of your balcony for a period of time, then should you get a reduction to your rent?

What is typical, please? First time renting so don't know if it's nothing or if I should be getting a reduction. They haven't confirmed how long the work will take.

Hello! My apartment building is undergoing work to repair/improve all balconies. I have a corner unit so when they are working on two sides of the building I will be most affected.

I work from home most days of the week so noise will definitely be a factor.

But also the loss of use of the balcony plus needing to keep doors and windows shut to prevent the indoor air quality getting really bad from all the construction dust/debris is the biggest loss. (Also need to keep the windows shut to lessen the noise.)

I posted in an apartment rental sub and I was told no rent reduction & also to ironically expect a rent increase because of the improvements.

Is that correct? No rent decrease is required to account for the loss of reasonable enjoyment of your apartment? To not have access to the balcony & the loss of fresh air is a huge inconvenience.

They haven't provided a timeline yet for how long the work/disruption is expected to last.

Hello, we're planning on renting a car and doing the above drive, but we don't want to drive on the 401.

Is there a nice scenic & quieter route to take that stays near the lake?

We are planning on driving since we want to visit PEC along the way and want (need?) a car for that.

ETA: We will be staying overnight in PEC
