Reading is the best pastime

I used to read a lot in my teens and in my early twenties. I used to be glued to a book in jam packed RTC buses. "Then some things which shouldn't have been forgotten were lost." Now I am trying to pick this hobby up again. I am reading lots of books ever since I deleted my Instagram and most of my streaming services.

Now I am reading again LOTR. I keep the background score from the LOTR movies while I read. And even vibe coded middle Earth map tracing Frodo's journey (it's a work in progress) as I go through each chapter.

Just thought I'd share my joy for reading. Hope you all are having a nice weekend too.

Why are movies so important for telugu people?

I can't imagine my life without movies, especially Telugu movies. I will give some context on how important are these movies. Before my marriage I had an ex from north India. With her there was always something amiss. Especially there would be situations where in I use a random telugu dialogue like "bagunna vadini Bagunnava ani adgatam amayakatvam" etc and she ofcourse couldn't get it.

I have tried even hindi movie lines "pachas rupay kaat overacting ke", but even those would go unnoticed. Whereas, when I asked for a cigarette from my telugu friend who was trying to quit. He said, "poorvam petta kalche vadini ippudu baaga taggincha." That was, to us, very funny and we laughed quite a bit.

With my wife now, who is also telugu l, it's so much fun to use lines like "quotation correct eh naaku Enduku cheptunnav" or "katha chepta annav".

My point is that I think these movies have some how become more than just entertainment in average telugu person's life.

Tldr; Telugu movies and its dialogues are more than entertainment for telugu people. Drop in your thoughts with a telugu dialogue.

I was rewatching some of Nolan's work. Something stuck with me in particular when watching tenet and interstellar. For me interstellar wasn't a great movie. But while watching tenet, I thought what if tenet and interstellar were set in the same universe.

Hear me out, in tenet we know that future generations, as a consequence of global warming (one of the reasons given in the movie) resorts to inverting time itself of the entire world. But as we know protagonist makes that plan a failure. So given this, may be since their knowledge of reversing time, led to creating wormholes and the eventual transition to the higher dimensional beings in interstellar.

So after some point in future they use this knowledge to bring themselves to an entire new galaxy, so that humanity survives.
