the double standard of it all

i am gonna be very short. I have already come across many posts dragging Nia for staying with a man she has multiple kids with and not cutting him of completely, but there was a time when if anybody would question WHY ON EARTH was Britanny still with Jax, they would automatically be called victim blamers.

Brit had years and years of literal footage of Jax being a POS and she stayed with him until she became the star of a spin-off of vdp rules, and Nia is the terrible person cause she tries to salvage the marriage that had recently started showing cracks?

interesting.

scene that should have never been depicted

one thing I respected about show's Suleiman was that he always respected his elders especially his mother. Valide could be doing most outrageous thing and Suleiman never dared to physically touch her.

Ahmed being this agressive towards his mother, his grandmother, his aunt...always left bad taste in my mouth. Handan always had Ahmed's best interest in her heart, she knew Safiye could try to get rid of Ahmed at any moment and this is how he repays her mother. banish her, demand her to respect your wishes about Mustafa and him being left alive but why are you physically assaulting your mom?!?!

Rewatching the show, why would writers do this?..

Look, this show has been one of my favourite shows of all time since it came out. Every now and then, i rewatch it, cause why wouldn't I. But lately, I physically can't take this shows illogical conclusions and descriptions. Idk what changed, but not seeing Hurrem as the woman who quite literally dominated the entire game is getting too annoying to me. Lemme explain.

We constantly hear various characters describe Hurrem as the most evil and cunning woman they have ever come across with, but imma share my unpopular opinion... In the show Hurrem was never as powerful as this characters said she was. In real life, she was the most powerful woman in the empire, in the series she bows down to quite literally everyone and can't get away with a single murder cause she has no real influence(meanwhile Suleiman's sisters are killing people left and right and everybody acts like it's their right to do so).

So what I am getting at is that, I wish Hurrrem was actually as influential and controversial as the characters in the show described her as. I wish that she had been written as not as mush of a victim but real powerhouse in the later(3 and 4) seasons. Let's be real, Fatma making her cry in season 4 because of her menopause - like whyyy were writers nerfing down my girl Hurrem like that?..

I know people still think she is like a villain in the series, but imma say one thing, some things are just right and wrong and all opinions just can't be classed as various interpretations. Hurrem was never the villain of this show. Period. End of the story. I literally wish she was. I would have enjoyed the show way more if she had been actually as powerful and evil as other characters and some of the fans in the comments under yt videos describe her as.

Why was Melissa so freaking passive aggressive

So we all know that during the first few seasons Mel altogether tried to avoid direct conflicts with people. She would not start calling anybody out, she would literally be the only one who had amicable relationship with Cathy after she left aldc etc.

What pisses me off is that, when it would have been valid from her part to be passive aggressive towards maybe rival studios who would barge in the room basically screaming, she would say NOTHING.

But when rival choreographer walked in to congratulate Nia and ask few questions about the production of Nia's music video, Melissa suddenly learned how to be shady and ran people out of the dressing room.

Idc who is doing what now. Literally every cast member blames everything on the production, edit and Abby, but you are responsible for your fuck ups. If you yell at a kid it's your fault, if you tattletale on a little kid it's your fault etc etc.

If you suddenly grow balls when the only other OG is finally getting their moment to spoil the interaction, then you are a terrible person.

I would also add that Maddie was already mainstream by that time. Nia getting talked about positively would take nothing from Maddie.

I just didn't want this to go unnoticed. Jill being bitchy kinda(she was jealous) makes sense, Mel growing balls at that moment - doesn't.
