The Koutetsujou is ready to depart!

People of Reddit, you've followed his journey for a few months now, and today, that journwy finally reaches the first station. The locomotive is now complete!

As for specs... it's 80 centimeters long and 20 wide, it's powered by 2 lego train motors, or 3 depending how deep your wallet is, and weights about 4.5 kilos

As for looks, well, it's just beautiful

I made an effort into achieving a screen accurate look of the train while trying to accomodate for it to be driveable and obtained a more than decent result: the plow is pretty sturdy, able to take a couple of hits while the redt of the train is sturdy enough to allow to be rocked a bit without issue. The only weakpoints i can find are the roadwheels that being hidden by the shields are a pain to center on the track and detach easily if moved around too much; the battery is also kind of a weak point, running out quite fast being so heavy, thus putting the motors under fatigue

In the pictures you can see the prototype of the carriage, but I'll have to keep testing a bit before ordering the parts for it, still a bit funky :)

I want to upgrade it in the future and make it even better, but it'll all be at another time, and one day i hope I'll be able to bring it to a lego train expo and have it run around

In the comments I'll add a couple of test runs videos, i thank you for the company and i hope you enjoyed this project as much as i did, while we wait a possible new season

Make sure to follow me on Twitter (https://x.com/Your\_Lego\_Guy) if you want to keep an eye our for my content, and we'll meet again another day!

It's been a pleasure

Need help powering this beast

Hey there guys!

I've been designing this itsy bitsy mini train, the Koutetsujou (from Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) for a while and finally got the parts to build it.

It's 100 studs long (80cm), 24 studs wide (20 cm), weights about 4.5 kilos and is powered by 2 train motors with 2 different battery boxes, one in the front and one in the back.

Believe it or not this thing runs, and quite well at that, but being so heavy it burns through the batteries, with the first box lasting not more than 30 minutes total in the test runs.

To solve the issue i was thinking replacing both boxes with an rc model battery pack, but i would need to chance the connector on the receiver, so i was wondering: would it be a good idea, if possible at all?

Thank you for the answers, if you have questions feel free to ask! I'll leave some videos of the running train in the comments, along with the whistle i sampled from the series

The Koutetsujou, out of Lego

Well people, the locomotive is finished!

Sadly I've yet to make a proper set of photos to it, so I'll feed you this one in the meantime AND another treat i made in these days

I managed to sample and recreate the whistle from the series by cutting and reattaching some clips, and i have the results in the comments below

Enjoy :)

LOCOMOTIVE PART 2 IN THW WORKS

The second part is growing steadily, but for today i take a break since I've gotten sick:

Turns out working while fatigued and overheating doesn't lead to good results 💀

Anyway, the project continues and it's coming out amazing. The only issues i found concern it's ability to run on tight Lego curves since i don't have any wider curve pieces, but after some refining it runs far better. Just gotta keep the speed controlled in the corners otherwise it derails, having a pretty high center of gravity, but little that can be done about that

Run videos in the comments!

LOCOMOTIVE PART 1 FINISHED!

The first part of the locomotive is now complete! Tomorrow I'll start the rear with the cannon

But god it's just so beautiful

Motion videos in the comments!

(Also does anybody know about Kabaneri discord servers?)

CA G3A3 RIS HANDRAIL

Hey there guys

I have a Classic Army G3A3 and i was looking to get a handguard RIS like the one in the second picture (From an older post by someone else) but almost every option i find is from the US while i'm in Europe so i'm not in a good position with the shipping fees and all, and the only semi-valid site i found is Evike-Europe but it's been out for ages.

Does anyone have any idea, secret shop or tips i can use?

Thank you all people

THE KOUTETSUJOU OUF OF LEGO!

Hello there, i'm The Alteisen Guy, a name i've picked up from works on another community, and today i've got something nice to show you!

I'm a long time fan of the series "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" and after a recent rewatch i said "Why the hell not?"

So here you have it ladies and gentlemen, the Koutetsujou!

My model represents the locomotive after the events of Episodes 5 and 6, where it received a substantial upgrade in the form of a Type 48 cannon!

It's made of a total of 4275 parts, powered by 3 motors and 2 batteries: 1 of each in the locomotive and the remaining amount located in the cannon section.
As for the size, it ears it's name of Fortress, towering at a massive 75 centimeters of lenght (95 studs), 19 cm of width (24 studs) and 20 cm of height (26 studs). The locomotive being articulated comes in handy with such a size, and i have personally build a prototype of the base to ensure it could run on standard R40 lego tracks

To make the locomotive run, a single controller isn't enough. Customers will have to download the app "Lego Power Up) and connect to both batteries to be able to control this beast, which will take a bit of tinkering to manage, but the effort is well worth it :)

I plan to design the rest of the convoy eventually, so stay tuned for that!

I also sell instructions for every single model i make, so of course, i couldn't hold back on this one. In the following link you can find the instructions for the model, full with a list of all the parts! (https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-263113/Your%20Brick%20Guy/the-koutetsujou/#details)

I hope you enjoy this model as much as i did, it's been amazing to make

Have a good day y'all!
