Mat B1- am I too late?

I’m 25 weeks tomorrow (going by NHS dates).

My employer knows I’m pregnant but hasn’t asked for it or mentioned this.

This form hasn’t been mentioned at my previous appointments.

I’ve just seen read someone saying that I need to provide the Mat B1 form to my employer by 25 weeks in order to get SMP.

Is this correct?

Not Exercising

I’m posting this in the hopes of some validation.

Is anyone else just not able to exercise in this heat?

Pre pregnancy I was active every day, sometimes multiple times a day. During pregnancy I’ve been so nauseated and tired that I’ve only been walking my dog.

During these heatwaves my partner has been walking our dog around 5 am and late at night (I’m usually asleep for both)!

I’ve literally done nothing, 3,000 steps if that.

I am hoping I’m not the only one, I feel guilty! I eat, sit and sleep!

Just a shout out to Xonvea!

Since week 5 of my pregnancy I suffered with severe sickness and spent the next few weeks bed bound and dehydrated despite my best efforts. At around 8 weeks I was diagnosed with hypermesis gravidum (HG) and prescribed Xonvea and my gosh did life improve. Suddenly I wasn’t doubting my capability anymore.

I take 2 tablets in the evening and one first thing in the morning. On some days I take the maximum dose of four tablets (an extra one in the afternoon).

I am now 22 weeks and started to wonder if I still needed to Xonvea.

Today I had to not take my morning medication for a blood test (I was meant to take it afterwards but forgot).

From mid morning to evening I was back to gagging at food and found myself back on the bathroom floor, reliving those early weeks of pregnancy.

I am so incredibly thankful to the people who developed Xonvea. I know that I would have spent this pregnancy in hospital (as I did others with HG but sadly lost) and have been miserable. I will never take it for granted again. No feeding tubes, no IVs and my own bed.

If you’re reading this and you’re struggling with something similar, ask your GP/ midwife/ early pregnancy assessment unit about Xonvea.

Positive outcomes- Threatened Miscarriage

I’m 19 weeks today. This evening I started bleeding (light, fresh red blood). I have no pain, no fever. I called the MAU and they asked me to come in.

They done a scan to check for a heart beat before listening to it. The heartbeat was fine.

I then had an examination where I was told my cervix was closed.

The doctor said I was having a threatened miscarriage. She advised me to go home but to come back if it gets heavier or if I’m pain.

If possible, please can anyone share positive outcomes after being advised of a threatened miscarriage?

I’m looking for some hope.

Is this flutters?

Hello! I’m 18 weeks pregnant. This afternoon I’ve been consistently feeling a bubbling/fizzing sensation just below my ribs.

Could this be flutters? I read that these are in the lower abdomen.

I’m just excited to feel them.
