Places to hang fliers?

I’m seeking recommendations of (authorized) places around town to hang paper fliers, like community boards / cork boards that get some foot traffic. Like large stores, coffee shops, library, medical offices, etc.? Any ideas welcome.

Thank you in advance!

Chimney / fireplace inspection?

Found myself the owner of a small working fireplace! It appears to be in good shape but hasn’t been used in a while, and I’d like to have it inspected and cleaned / repaired if necessary, before I use it this winter.

Any recommendations for chimney inspectors that will service chimneys in the UWS?

Are abs on cardio days?

TL/DR: whither abs?

First I want to say, I love F45. I’ve been going for about 8 months — switched from a small private weightlifting class — and I feel and look better than any time in my adult life. I was skeptical about the timed sets and not lifting super heavy, but the payoff for me has been spectacular.

(Full body workout in only 45 minutes, in a coed class of all ages, with the nicest trainers and great music. I could go on and on… I just wish I’d found it sooner!)

But, whither abs??? I’m only going on resistance days (M/W/F), and I think I’ve seen one ab station in 8 months. To make up for it, I do crunches in the rest periods to get some ab work — works great in between sets of floor exercises. (Also sprinkle in pilates and barre, but, meh. Prefer lifting!)

Maybe abs are on cardio days? I’ve never been to a cardio day — I’m assuming it’s the same format as resistance, moving around the room to different stations?

F45 is better than the competitors on strength days IMO. But is it really that different from them on cardio days? Seems like it’s the same schtick everywhere. Stations of box jumps, jump rope, battle ropes, jumping jacks…

Food shopping recs in Chania Old Town?

I’ll be in Crete for the first time and renting an apartment in Chania Old Town. I’m so excited! I plan to eat dinners out at restaurants, but I’ll need food for the apartment too.

Do you have any recommended shops in or near Chania Old Town for:

- basic groceries like coffee, milk, yogurt, eggs?

- best cheese?

- olives, roasted veg, other prepared food (like a deli)?

- best bakeries for bread?

- wine and liquor?

I’m happy to go outside of Old Town but won’t have a car and prefer walking, so any recommendations within a walkable radius would be great!

Everything sparks joy

I’m in the middle of a move from one apartment to another of similar size but much nicer. I’ve thrown out and donated SO MUCH stuff. Really purged before the move.

99.9% of the move happened yesterday, and I can still access the old place for the next 4 days.

So I have a pile of stuff left in the living room that has no place in the new apartment — didn’t even have a place in the old one — and nobody cares about but me. Random stuff that would typically go in a junk drawer but for me, would go in a junk room. I left it because I want to part with it, or most of it, and don’t know how. If I didn’t see these random things, I’d never remember all the moments in my life when they happened. It’s like a trip down memory lane, but it’s a pile of junk.

I’m thinking about taking photos of things, then dumping, but it’s so hard. It’s my life. (Of course I already kept a lot.) Any other ideas, suggestions, mantras?

I need to UF my new H. Help.

Thank you for any guidance.

When will we get guardrails on the busy narrow platforms?

72nd Street 1/2/3 southbound, 8:30 am today, southern end of the platform facing south.

The whole length of the platform was busy (delayed trains due to disruptive passenger at 96th), and it was a bit scarier than usual.

When are we planned to get guardrails at the narrow ends of the platform?

Extra question, do we have data yet on whether the guardrails are protecting people?

Just fyi, he’s out there shaking hands. I’m just a commuter deciding who’ll get my vote. Maybe you are too!

(Hope this doesn’t violate any of the new sub rules which are great.)
