Please help me. Comfy sofas/loveseats for small spaces?

I have a really narrow but long living room and not a lot of flexibility with where my couch can go. The wall the couch can be on is only 8ft long, but taking up the full 8ft completely overwhelms the space. The room itself is roughly 10ft wide, and the sofa will be facing a pony wall/ kitchen island. Ultimately, because the couch will take up so much space in the room, it’s bound to be a focal point and so I’m bugging about picking the right one.

I need a couch that won’t overwhelm the space in terms of size, but is also visually cohesive. I love the idea of a rounded couch. I really want to stray away from trendy MCM/millenial/hotel looking furniture. The catch is that I also need this couch to be practical (performance fabric) and ultimately also really need for it to be comfortable.

Please help me. I’m very close to crying and buying an oversized beanbag from Costco.

Help bringing a vision to life?

I need help :(

I was away for some time and was very fortunate to have help from my folks with a kitchen reno. They made a few aesthetic decisions that I wouldn’t have made, but we roll and ultimately I’m grateful that the work that was done was done. The cabinetry and backsplash cannot change.

I’m hoping to achieve something like the attached inspo pics. The warmth, darker stained wood, and inclusion of color are what I’m looking for, potentially to a more subtle degree because I’m rocking a much smaller space.

I’m envisioning that the built in spice rack is one way I can draw in those elements I am looking for. I’m thinking peel and stick tiles on the backing of the rack will add color, but I don’t know what to do to the front. I’m a little limited in terms of materials I can use, as the rack is removable so I can access the backing of my washer/dryer unit.

I’m open to any suggestions, I have some thoughts, but would love to hear about new ideas I haven’t thought of.

Thank you so much!

What’s up with all the teenagers?

Im visiting Florence for the first time and was absolutely shocked to see how many study abroad students are here. Not just that they’re here, but that they essentially tear the city up and have turned it into The Jersey Shore but in a city with incredible history and culture. It feels impossible to do anything or go anywhere after 10 PM without hordes of girls in mini skirts bowling into you.

I know study abroad is big, but do locals have any say in any of it? Do city governments try to limit how many students come in because of all of this?? Has Florence always been like this or has it gotten worse?

Additionally, if anyone knows of a regular bar that’s relaxed with music that IS NOT a night club that would be so deeply appreciated.
