Does no one make high back couches anymore?

We're looking to replace our current couch which but unfortunately every couch I look at has a back that cuts off below the shoulders. I'm not hip to couch trends but is this a fad? Is there some reason there aren't many high back couches?

Help me decide how to paint/finish this room.

What’s staying:

Couch, furniture, fireplace and brick behind

Everything else can be changed

How do we feel about ordering couches off Amazon?

Or purchasing online generally, as opposed to in-person purchasing?

Best sleeper sofa with storage chaise for guest room + playroom?

We are looking to convert a spare room into a playroom/guest room and ideally would like a sleeper sofa with a storage chaise. Has anyone had experience with Crate & Barrel Lounge, Poly & Bark, or Article? We ideally are looking for a very comfortable bed as this will mainly be used for our parents when they visit but love the idea of having the storage chaise for linens and a comfortable couch for movie nights and durability to withstand toddlers!

I would love your opinions on any of these as well as open to other recommendations!

Pls Help! Only leather couch staining everything after using protective balm

Hi, I'm trying to find an answer quickly as this is our only couch and nothing seems to work. Hoping to find an alternative to resolene which I see everyone recommend (but hear it leaves a plastic feeling film). Maybe I haven't waited long enough for the balm to dry but here's the story.

My girlfriend's mom let us have her old navy blue leather couch. It is nice but there are definitely cracks and some peeling. I wanted to restore it but stayed away from any dyes or recoloring balms for the concern of staining. I saw with those that they all recommended a specific cleaning product first. Then I found Bick LP protective balm. Nothing mentioning needing to clean the couch and no one reported the material transferring dye onto clothes.

About 24hrs agao I applied a thick later of the balm. too thick. The couch was absorbing it so I thought it was fine. I've buffed and buffed and used microfiber towels. I applied a light layer of 50/50 soap and water to try and get the excess (oddly enough almost nothing would transfer when I used this?), and applied some heat to the couch. Still where the cracks are at the base of the cushion will transfer a bit of dye if I apply pressure and rub.

I'm losing my mind and if I buff anymore its going to make the material worse. I'm thinking of trying a leather sealer like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0G7XHTXJ3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3100LA9GH31TC&th=1

Would greatly appreciate if anyone who actually knows what they are doing could chime in with their answer. Thanks!

Anxiety

Has anyone else ever had anxiety over a furniture purchase? We just dropped 10K on a Stressless recliner and a sofa, and a very cool arched led floor lamp. But, I’m afraid it be 10 weeks of anxiety for me, I sure hope it’s comfortable, and hope the breezy blue color was the right choice. . We’ve made so many big furniture mistakes - three in a row. 😭. So I needed to get this right, but yesterday, we made kind of a rushed decision. Ugggg. I hate this anxiety.

Help me understand what actually makes a couch comfortable

I've gone through 4 sofas in 3 years and every single one looked great in the showroom but turned into torture after a month of actual use.

We spend a lot of time on the couch - reading, watching TV, napping, just lounging for hours. My partner and I both work from home sometimes and the couch is basically our second office/relaxation zone.

Our current one (some mid-range modern thing from Article) looked perfect for our space but sitting on it for more than 30 minutes makes my back hurt. The cushions are too firm and the armrests are at a weird height.

I stayed at an Airbnb last month with the most comfortable sectional I've ever sat on. It wasn't fancy or expensive-looking, just a basic grey L-shape, but I could've lived on that thing.

What am I missing? Seat depth? Cushion fill? Back support? Is there a formula for this or do I just need to sit on 50 couches until I find the right one?

Has anyone purchased an Anabei modular sofa? My instagram knows we are updating our living spaces! Looking for a low risk, low maintenance basement couch for lounging, movies, etc.

Which Sleeper Sofa?

TLDR: Should we go with the American Leather Comfort Sleeper or the American Leather Today Sleeper?

Background: We are trying to pick a sleeper sofa for our guest room, most of the time we will be using it as a sofa but both our parents live a ways away so when they do stay they will be using the bed for long periods (see it needs to be comfy as a bed too)

I think we've landed on American Leather but we are looking for help choosing between the Comfort and the Today

Has anyone slept on both? And is there a clear winner?

Also with the Comfort does anyone have strong opinions about the standard matress vs the Cooling Gel option?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Can someone explain to me why white couches are trending/popular right now?

I just want to start by saying I can see the aesthetic of a white couch. They can look chic, and inviting, and give the perception of a clean space. But.... for the life of me, I don't understand why they are becoming so popular for everyday use/homes. Albeit, I do have pets. However, it just seems impractical and a pain to clean over time for those who don't have pets or children.

I need help...

I got a 3 seater whitish recliner. Bcz my husband wanted a comfortable one. I don't like recliners bcz they r difficult to style...

So now to complete my living room I am thinking if adding a green couch with 2 accent rust coloured swivel chair.. With the help of chatgpt I've created an image of how it might look.. I don't know if it looks good or.. Wierd.

My styling idea for the living room is mismatched sofas, earthy tones vibe..

What do you all think? Will the green couch and orange chairs look good?

I currently only have the 3 seater recliner and yet to decide if I'm getting the green couch and rust brown chairs...

Pls help

We are looking at this Ashley sectional. Is it too budget friendly to be quality? Looking for it to last about 5 years.

Modular version of Anthropologie Willoughby

I love the Anthro Willoughby couch but it comes as a single piece and our very old home has a 28.5” wide door frame so it won’t fit. Any ideas? (Windows are also too small)

If your budget was $5-8k, what sectional would you choose?

I am looking for a long sectional (around 150-160”) with a chaise on each side, preferably with deep cushions. I am willing to spend money on something great, but I have gone down so many rabbit holes and pretty much everything I find has great reviews on the website but bad reviews on Reddit (mostly that the couch doesn’t hold up). At this price point, what is my best bet?

Bobs Furniture - Aspen Forest 78'' Sofa - should I purchase?

Hi all, I am looking for a cozy, light sink in couch for lounging and watching TV, working sometimes and sleeping if there are guest. My budget is maximum $700/$800. Do you think I should buy Aspen Forest 78inch sofa from bobs furniture?

u/PotentialPin9837 — 13 days ago

I recently bought a flexsteel sofa. I've had it around 30 days and it's already begun to pill. I know every fabric is different, but can anyone tell me if their fabric has held up over time or should I return? The website says use a fabric shaver!! Idk seems strange to have to give my sofa a haircut
