[Text] 24 dropout with severe adhd. trying very hard but not hard enough

i crave routine but can never stick with it, and i have fallen into the mindset im not smart enough to do anything. i am now medicated and it does wonders but its taking a lot to get myself right. i have a vague plan for college/switching to a job in the field im interested in for experience, and im more hopeful than ever, but its still so hard. has anyone else started "late"? still dont have my GED, only have my drivers permit, stuck in the USA while the economy and society crumbles. my upward change is happening but its slow, i feel like im losing a race.

Ideas for drawerless ALEX?

hello, i have to get rid of all the drawers in two Alexs due to a mouse infestation. Only the drawers are compromised. I use them to hold up a board for a desk. Has anyone used drawerless Alexs for anything? Id still like to be able to use them for storage somehow. Thank you

is everyone on this site suddenly a therapist or do they just hate women lmao

several times on different threads (non autistic nor feminist related) the topic of "self infantilizing women" comes up, and all of a sudden everyone and their uncle knows why women have non mainstream interests, "regressive tendencies" (see: "is too childish for my standards"), or dare to mention they are autistic. the reason they come up with is daddy issues, trauma, or baiting perverted men.

this is not a new issue and everyone has seen this forever on every website ever, so its whatever, but i recently saw someone say it was "strange that women self infantilize in a post epstein world". genuinely sickening thing to say about someone, mind you, on a post of a womans room who had stuffed animals. what compels you to bring that up? a woman is a little childish and suddenly shes complicit in a sex traffiking ring? rape culture? fuck off. do i have to fit the mold of a NT woman so i don't aggravate gross dudes. what do uou want from me.

im seriously constantly ashamed of my own childish tendencies which are deeply intertwined with my experience with autism. this is exhausting. autistic chicks really are never gonna escape dudes saying completely deranged shit about us. a woman was agreeing with this take. ugh.

do ogp not understand how item locations work

genuine question not trying to be judgmental- im on stock 1 and nearly every day ogp (opd? whatever) come up to me and show me their screens asking where something is when the location is right there, its in that location, its in stock where it says it will be. its not just new people either. are they trained to pick based on picture and just never read the numbers?

does their app also not show how much is in the backroom because if not that seems important. i get a mix of people asking and people who do just go pick from the back so im confused maybe training just sucks.

ETA: im not talking about someone asking me where an item is because its not in the correct spot. the instances im talking about are where the item is in the correct spot. the only information they needed to get the item is on the same phone theyre showing me. i did not do more than look at the location and find the item right where their device told them they would find it. nor is it an issue where theyre confusing an item variant that looks similar (like low sodium. i do that shit too but just check the upc once i think something is wrong). its literally like they didnt even check the location because its right there. the backroom question isnt something im complaining about either i was just curious.

behavior at work makes me feel like i stand out poorly

i work a very involved stocking job at a large store. most of my coworkers are just going in to get the day done, this is fine, im doing this as well. i worry i come off as a tryhard or kiss ass for reporting issues i find at work to supervisors however.

the issues i report to supervisors at work are: evidence of gross negligence causing safety issues that i cannot or do not know how to handle on my own without reporting for procedure (biohazards on the salesfloor) and shelf labels being incorrect in an area on a consistent basis (which makes my teams job difficult and needs reported as its an entire task needed to be done by a different team).

i do not doubt i've gotten people in trouble for things i've reported, moreso the biohazard thing as any instance of what i found specifically could have only happened as a result of negligence and was an active safety issue for customers and employees alike.

my issue is that i do have a reputation for finding issues a lot. i do not complain about it when i report it, if anything i think i come off as excited to point out something strange i found, because sometimes the mistake is really interesting, and i talk through how i think it happened as i report it, never saying stuff that implies an incompetency or laziness in anyone else. and sometimes these issues are made by very high management which is why i have to report it because i physically cannot fix it myself.

anything i report directly impacts how my team can work, so my motivation in reporting it is making our jobs run smoothly, so everyone else is able to get their hours in and go home with minimum effort. i enjoy fixing issues that impact my team.

i worry i come off as a perfectionist or someone who nitpicks though. my managers appreciate my attention to detail, but my coworkers may think im sucking up. i come off as blunt i think, and openly kind of strangely excited to talk about things ive found wrong only because theyre interesting to me. ive never come up to someone with an angry attitude to report something, like in trying to attack someone, and i always assume ignorance before malice, im always probably weirdly jovial for the matter because i get to walk through how i think it couldve happened and leard more about how our systems work through discussions.

im so worried about this that i do not report issues within my own team, which has extended to breaking cold chain. and not even "accidentally left a frozen cart out too long", i have seen coworkers take completely warmed up boxes of frozen and put it back into frozen storage which ive had to immediately quietly fix. some of my coworkers do tasks so negligently and incorrectly that it takes the next person to do that task significantly longer but i dont want to say anything because i worry i already come off as someone who just complains even though im not even really complaining.

im sorry if none of this made sense, im just confused and sad.

DAE not relate to other experiences with gendered expectations?

i dont know how to discuss this without sounding callous or not understanding, so ill preface with i know this is a real societal pressure that has actual ramifications, including in workplaces.

while i understand cognitively, i dont relate to and am often confused (emotionally) by girls who say that they need to perform femininity very intensely in order to live their lives at all, as if their entire social standing and circles would crumble if they did not wear makeup every day. i think it's because i dont know what im "missing", i never had a chance in social settings where that was required of me, so i never cared for them.

i get a little frustrated when i see girls talk about how they absolutely have to do things like dress femininely and wear makeup and stay under a certain weight for aesthetic purposes or else they are treated as subhuman. i believe their experiences, so maybe thats a point of frustration. am i being treated as subhuman and not noticing? because i dont do these things and i think a lot of people like me just fine at work and casually.

this doesnt come from living in a place where misogyny isnt at this intensity, i live in the bible belt (USA), and my family aren't exactly feminists either. i do feel pressure to perform certain acts of femininity so i understand the concept, but im talking about the full lifestyle performance i often see talked about. maybe im just taking things too literally
