why are her legs so skinny
shiho - honestly i much prefer this over ichika... ichika fits as the protagonist for the main story, but shiho fits it much better for leo/need as a whole... saki could also be the protagonist, especially for the main story, but shiho fits both the main story and leo/need. the only thing you'd have to do is make saki be in shiho's class instead of ichika's.
minori - idk how you could do someone other than minori... haruka is kinda just minori's sidekick and personal assistant, and shizuairi kinda have their own thing going on at the start... i don't really see there being a different protagonist tbh
an - i really thought she was the protagonist at the start of vbs' story 😭 it took me, like, 5 episodes to look at the art and realise otherwise... idk, she fits the vibe of vbs way more than kohane, and the story kinda revolves around her...
emu - pretty self-explanatory tbh, emu and tsukasa are really similar characters, especially in their motivations, and neither the main story nor the event stories would be affected much by this change...
ena - kanade really fits as the protagonist, but i didn't wanna do another cop out, so... yea ena could fit too. especially with her kinda being mafuyu's foil, i think it'd work well...

personally, it's a toss up between rui, shiho, and saki.
wxs is going insane recently, with kasa7 and all, and i haven't read it yet so this might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure i've heard this sakaki guy is rui's biggest opp, and considering the lengths he went to in torturing tsukasa, i'm worried about what he could do to someone he actually just doesn't like.
this might be a bit of an airball (idk much about the recent leo/need stories) but my spidey senses are telling me that l/n might go through a rough patch someday soon... and since shiho is the one who cares the most about their music, i wouldn't be surprised if she goes ena mode (getting frustrated, feeling talentless, neglecting herself, etc) if things go downhill
also saki is pretty damn likely... she's probably one of the most mentally fragile characters outside of n25. saki5 already showed that she can get pessimistic quickly and gets really sensitive to arguments, i don't think she would handle it well if her group started to fall apart on top of what's going on with her brother. it might be fried ngl 😨
honami and ichika i think are fine, because i doubt the devs would give either of them severe angst enough to warrant the dead eye treatment, mainly because at least half of l/n needs to be stable lmao
