desperate please read

my withdrawal akathisia isn’t going away. i’m on week six and i’m not improving anymore.

i went from 100mg of pregabalin a day for 4 and a half years to 50mg a day in a quick 2 weeks, and then missed my dose alltogether for a day and the akathisia started.

ive immediately held at 75mg a day ever since , 25mg x3. idk if this the right thing to be doing and i don’t know why i’m not getting better but im desperate for literally any advice or help, this is unliveable.

no doctor i’ve spoken to has a clue how to help or has even heard of akathisia and im beyond terrified now.

ive tried propranolol , magnesium glycinate, lavender oil, valerian root, chamomile tea.

help me

really need some advice.

i took pregabalin 100mg a day for 4 years. then i halved my dose within a week and got severe akathisia.

i then was put on a stable dose of 75mg pregabalin a day the second my aka began, and have remained on that since.

it’s been 5 weeks since aka started, and the akathisia hasn’t gone away. its more tolerable than at the beginning but still constant and really upsetting and scary. i have flare ups too around my period and just randomly sometimes and it’s traumatizing.

i’m beginning to wonder if this will ever go away, and should i come off pregablin entirely? or should i just stay on 75mg and expect it go away.

for reference ive never taken any other meds and nothing else caused it, just the sudden pregabalin drop.

flare up?

a couple weeks ago i got severe akathsia from lowering my pregabalin dose too quickly ( 100mg a day to 25-50mg a day , which is very sudden for 4 years usage )

i was recovering a bit each day after being put on a stable dose of 25mg 3x a day ( keeping the medication alwaus in my bloodstream to help with withdrawal ) and this week i felt almost fully recovered. able to enjoy things again and not feel restless / panicked

however last night and this morning i’m feeling that electric feeling in my legs, like i need to move them and i cant enjoy anything again because my mind is forced full of panic and thoughts about aka.

im wondering what would cause a flare up when i was improving on my stable dose? i dont vape, drink alcohol, smoke, do drugs or take any other meds. i have had a lot of sugar but not sure how bad that would be for aka.

any help or advice is always really appreciated. hoping everyone on this sub is doing okay, wishing you all the best.

EDIT: not sure if this is linked but the only thing that i changed in my routine last night was taking 2 omega 3 fish oil capsules. that’s the only thing i can think of that i did differently, but i thought omega 3 was good for aka honestly.

alcohol and nicotine

if i had withdrawal akathisia and am now mostly recovered is it safe to vape or drink or can these be inflammatory and worsen it / make it come back.

anyone got akathisia from pregabalin?

cant find nearly anything online about it but its the only med ive ever taken and the second i lowered my dose ( halved it within 2 weeks after 4 years of usage ) i got severe agonising akathisia for days and only now get some relief.

if anyone has ever gotten aka from pregabalin please let me know, feels really isolating not being able to find much info or others with this experience

should i come off my meds

i believe my aka is caused by a sudden lower dose of pregablin that i was on for years, and im wondering if instead of staying on a stable dose i should just look at trying to get off it alltogether. just whatever makes this stop faster

akathisia - please help me

ive been on 100mg for 4 years now. recently, in the span of 2 weeks, i lowered it to 75-50 a day. i realise now this was too sudden, but ive ended up with agonising, severe akathisia.

wondering if anyone has had the same experience or has any advice, im just desperate for any support at all. thankyou

please help me

my aka began on sunday, i cannot stop moving or walking and the mental distress is unbearable. i have severe flareups where i just writhe on the floor in agony.

i was on pregabalin 50mg twice daily for four years and then tried reducing my dose quite quickly within a week and a half and thats when this began. i do also have chronically low iron but i had an infusion a week ago. ive been taking 75mg a day of pregabalin since just to keep an even dose as suggester by my doctor.

i cant sleep more than an hour, im so exhausted im barely even able to think to type this but i cant stop moving, its like someone is electrocuting me.

is it best to just go back to my normal pregab dose or just stop altogether? i just need anything thatll make this stop. im taking propranolol but the relief is minimal same for things like melatonin for sleep.

please help me

withdrawal akathisia

ive been withdrawing from pregablin from 100mg a day to 50mg a day, and forgot my dose yesterday morning and had only 25mg.
since then ive had a feeling of being unable to stop moving, like i want to just rip out of my skin and be sedated because i cant cope.
if i go back to my normal dose how long for this to go away? and what can i do to make it stop

diagnosed today - help

hi,

i was told by my physiotherapist today i have cubital tunnel. my right arm from the elbow down , is incredibly sore, and aching. my forearm feels weak and my hand is too, kind of like when your hands are cold and move slower. i have a numb pinky and ring finger sometimes on waking up, and the cause is excessive computer use i think.

ive been given some exercises to do, but im wondering what else can i do to get rid of this as fast as i can, and should i be concerned by the intense ache / weakness feeling in my forearm and hand. ive heard people only having slight numbness in their fingers.

ive only had numbness in my ring and pinky on waking up, other than that theyre fine. any advice for what to do to help myself would be seriously appreciated as ive been signed off work and cant do any hobbies.

spotify barely works

any song i press on recently takes 10-30 seconds to play, even if downloaded. searching for songs or opening playlist takes forever regardless of settings. its like this for me on multiple devices, and im wondering if anyone else experiences this
