1997 was a simpler time, and this guy was the year's biggest political scandal. Travel Rorts!

Mal Colston spent decades in federal politics, being elected in the wake of the Whitlam dismissal in 1975. The scandal was laughably simple -- get reimbursed for flights that never happened or, were made just to collect the frequent flier points. He was dead 6 years later in 2003
