I’ve had my puppy for 6 days now and I’m honestly all over the place emotionally.
One second I’m crying and thinking that maybe I secretly don’t want him because I can’t handle how much my life has changed.

I feel overwhelmed and sometimes I just want my old life back.
And then, at another moment, I’m completely enjoying him, feeling happy and thinking he’s the cutest thing ever.

The change has been so much bigger than I expected, and I feel guilty for having these thoughts because I obviously love him.

Has anyone else experienced this during the first days/weeks with a new puppy? I’d really love to hear that I’m not the only one.

I have a 12-week-old Mini Dachshund who has recently started biting and tearing apart the blanket in his crate.

Hi everyone! I have a 12-week-old Mini Dachshund who has recently started biting and tearing apart the blanket in his crate.

He seems to love chewing on fabric, and I’m worried that he might actually swallow pieces of the blanket. I obviously don’t want him to hurt himself, but I also want him to be comfortable in his crate.

Has anyone dealt with this with a young Dachshund? Should I remove the blanket completely for now and leave the crate without bedding, or are there safer alternatives?

I’d also love any tips on teaching him that blankets and other fabric aren’t chew toys.
Thanks in advance! 🐾

I’ve had my 12-week-old puppy for 4 days and I feel like I’m falling apart

I’ve had my 12-week-old puppy for only 4 days, and honestly, I have never felt this bad. I want to rehome him!!

I’m sleeping terribly, I can barely do anything, I’m constantly shaking and I’ve lost my appetite to the point where I’m hardly eating. I feel completely overwhelmed and exhausted.

I have mild OCD and I struggle a lot with smells, dirt and mess. I’m also someone who really values peace and quiet, and I’m starting to feel like having a puppy means I’ll never have that again — that I’ll constantly have to be doing something, training, supervising, cleaning or worrying about him.

The worst part is that I already feel like I don’t have the energy to give him the training and attention he needs. He deserves someone who can properly take care of him, and I’m starting to think that person might not be me.
I feel incredibly guilty even saying this, but I’m seriously considering finding him a new home. I don’t want to abandon him or make an irresponsible decision. I just feel completely overwhelmed and need help figuring out what to do.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of extreme puppy blues? Did it get better, or did you ultimately decide that rehoming was the right choice?

I genuinely need some advice because right now I feel like I’m falling apart.

I’ve had my 13-week-old puppy for 3 days and I’m completely overwhelmed

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have had our 13-week-old puppy for 3 days now. He is incredibly sweet and tiny, sleeps well, and actually really likes his crate. Overall, things are already better than they were on day 1.

But I’m finding myself feeling extremely stressed and anxious.

I’m constantly watching him and checking whether he wants to come out of his crate. I take him outside about every hour and I’m trying to get him potty trained. Sometimes he pees outside, but quite often he’ll come back from a walk and then pee on our hardwood floor about 20 minutes later. I know accidents are normal with a puppy, but it feels like I’m spending the entire day thinking, “Does he need to pee?”
On top of that, I have to go back to work in two weeks, and that is really stressing me out. By then he’ll be around 15 weeks old, and I can’t imagine him being able to stay home alone for long periods yet. We’re already looking into daycare/dog sitters, but that also feels like another thing we have to organize.
What scares me the most is the thought:

“Am I ever going to get my old life back?”

I miss being able to just sit on the couch with my husband and do absolutely nothing. Right now it feels like I’m responsible for him 24/7 and I can never fully relax.
At the same time, our puppy is genuinely lovely and he isn’t doing anything wrong. He sleeps well in his crate and we’re already having small successes. So I almost feel guilty for feeling this way.

For those of you who have been through this:
When did it get better? When did your puppy stop feeling like a full-time job? And how did you manage going back to work with a young puppy?

I’m mostly looking for honest experiences and some reassurance. ❤️

12-week-old miniature dachshund — 24 hours in and I already feel like I’ve made a huge mistake

We brought home our 12-week-old miniature dachshund just 24 hours ago, and I feel absolutely miserable. I have constant anxiety, I’m exhausted, and I honestly just want to lie on the couch and have a moment to rest but I feel like I can’t.

When he’s in his crate, he cries and whines. When he’s out, he’s constantly jumping around and peeing on the floor. I feel like I have to watch him every second, and I’m already completely overwhelmed.

I feel terrible saying this, but I have so much regret. I keep wondering if I’ve made a huge mistake and whether I’m actually capable of doing this.

What scares me even more is that I’m going back to work in two weeks. Right now, he cries as soon as he can’t see me, and I have no idea how I’m ever going to be able to leave him alone for a longer period of time when I’m working.

I know it has only been 24 hours and that he’s just a baby who has suddenly been taken away from everything familiar. I know things probably won’t always be like this. But right now, I feel completely overwhelmed and honestly just want to cry.

Has anyone else felt this way in the first few days with a puppy? Did it get better? How did you cope with the anxiety and exhaustion?
I feel so much regret right now and I really need to hear that I’m not the only one who has felt like this.

12-week-old puppy panics when I leave him alone in the crate – what should I do?

12-week-old puppy panics when I leave him alone in the crate – what should I do?
Post

Hi everyone,
I brought home my 12-week-old puppy (a miniature dachshund) about 24 hours ago, and I’m feeling really overwhelmed and worried about how to handle crate training and alone time.
He is actually very calm when I am right next to him. Last night, I slept on the floor next to his crate and he slept peacefully. However, whenever I leave the room or move away from him while he’s in the crate, he starts barking and whining.

We live in an apartment, so I’m really worried about letting him bark/cry for a long time. I don’t want to disturb the neighbors, and honestly, hearing him get so upset is making me panic as well.
During the day, if I put him in the crate, he’ll stay in there for maybe a minute and then come back out. He doesn’t seem interested in sleeping in it at all. He much prefers sleeping on our carpet, or on us/in our lap.

I’m not trying to rush him, but I also really want to teach him to be comfortable being alone and eventually sleep independently in his crate. I’m scared that if I keep responding every time he cries, I’ll accidentally teach him that barking gets him out of the crate. On the other hand, I don’t want to leave him crying and make the crate or being alone frightening for him.

What would you do in my situation?

•	Should I stop trying to close the crate for now and focus only on making it a positive place?
•	Should I let him sleep outside the crate for a while?
•	How do I start teaching him to be alone without letting him get to the point of panic?
•	How quickly should I realistically expect a 12-week-old puppy to be able to sleep alone in a crate?
•	And how do I manage this in an apartment where prolonged barking/crying isn’t really an option?

I know I’ve only had him for 24 hours and I’m probably expecting too much too soon, but I’m genuinely overwhelmed and would really appreciate advice from people who have been through this.
Thank you!

Does “Reta” make the birth control pill less effective?

Hi everyone,
I’ve seen people talk about “Reta” (retatrutide) for weight loss. I’m currently on the pill and I really don’t want to risk pregnancy.

Does anyone know if Reta affects the effectiveness of the birth control pill or makes it unreliable?

Would I need to use extra protection just in case?
Thanks!

Losing my appetite

I’m on day 2 of OMAD for weight loss. I get hungry before my meal, but after just a few bites my appetite completely disappears and I feel full. Is this normal in the first few days, and does it get better?

Ordering reta in EU

Will there come a time in the near future when we won’t be able to order Reta online anymore? Is it wise to stock up, or is there no need to worry? I’m from Europe.

Is it okay to switch peptide sources during a retatrutide cycle?

I’m just starting my first retatrutide cycle, and I’m a bit nervous about whether I picked a good source.

If I decide after a few weeks that I want to switch to a different supplier, would that be an issue as long as it’s still retatrutide and I continue with the same dosing schedule?

Has anyone switched sources mid-cycle? Did you notice any differences in effectiveness or side effects, or did everything stay about the same?
I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who have done this. Thanks!

Start of my journey

Hi everyone,
I’m starting my reta (retatrutide) journey soon and wanted to share my plan and hopefully keep myself accountable.
I’m a 24-year-old woman, currently 67 kg, and my goal weight is 55 kg.
My plan is:
• Start at 1 mg once a week.
• Use it for 2 weeks.
• Then I’ll be traveling for 3 weeks, so I’ll pause during that time.
• Once I’m back, I’ll start again and continue until I reach my goal.
Has anyone else taken a break like this due to travel? Did it affect your progress or side effects when restarting?
Also, based on your experience, how long do you think it might take to go from 67 kg to 55 kg with retatrutide?
I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips. Thanks! 😊

Considering Retatrutide after regaining weight – looking for advice

Hi everyone,
I’m 24 years old. A few years ago I weighed around 80 kg, and through dieting and hard work I managed to lose weight until I reached 59 kg. Unfortunately, over the past year I’ve regained weight and I’m now 67 kg.
I’ve been trying everything to get back to my goal weight, but I just can’t seem to make it happen. I constantly struggle with food noise, cravings, and thinking about food all day. It’s honestly making me feel pretty hopeless.
Because of this, I’m considering trying retatrutide.

I do have previous experience with GLP-1 medications, so I was wondering:

•	Since I’ve used a GLP-1 before, should I start on a higher dose, or is it still recommended to begin with the lowest dose?
•	What’s the best way to inject it? Are there preferred injection sites?
•	Is the needle very thick, or is it similar to other GLP-1 pens?
•	Based on your experiences, how long might it take to go from **67 kg to around 55 kg** (losing about **12 kg**) if I respond well?

I’d also love to hear any tips for someone who’s just starting retatrutide. What do you wish you had known before you began?
Thanks so much—I really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
