Blueberry and lemon cake! 🫐

For my gran’s 80th. Vanilla chiffon, lemon mousse, fresh salty lemon curd, blueberry compote, vanilla bean Italian meringue buttercream, and lots of blueberries 🤸‍♀️

Why are so many djs men?

Genuine and sincere question. Makes sense (to me) that some hobbies like going to the gym or watching football are done by more men than women. But I really don’t understand why it’s the case for DJ-ing. Maybe it varies across genre but overall I feel like the number of male djs is way higher. DJing is about sharing a love for music and everybody loves music regardless of gender! So what’s up 🤔

Edit: female dj myself and I’m a huge fan of so many different women on the decks 🧙and yes I’m very aware of the patriarchy but even when I think about hobbyists/bedroom djs among my friends, the male to female ratio is still off. This question was more about personal interest, not why men are more likely to succeed in the industry

Cookie texture/sugar balance

Trying to develop my perfect CCC recipe. Mine so far has the perfect amount of sugar (19g per 90g cookie) whereas my coworkers uses 35g per same size cookie. Hers has a much better texture, I’m aiming for extremely crispy, flat and chewy in the middle with cracks and ripples (like the above picture). Mine don’t come out consistently crisp and chewy but I don’t want to increase the sugar any more. Sometimes they’re too soft and fall apart easily, but if I bake them for longer then they’re not chewy. How can I achieve a better texture without more sweetness?
My recipe: 230g melted butter, 190g sugar, 2 eggs, 260g flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda
Her recipe: 170g creamed butter, 300g sugar, 290g flour, 2 tsp cornstarch, 2 tsp baking powder

Made my first ever item of clothing today! But there’s a weird crease at the crotch that I have no idea how to get rid of. I didn’t use a pattern, just traced around trousers I already owned. What can I do?! ☹️
