My first ever quilt and my first time sleeping with it!!

My first ever quilt and I finally can use it!!!

I had been purchasing halloween fabrics for this bad boy for YEARS!!! It then took me a bit to cut out all my pieces, put them all together, and bind it all together. I ended up hand stitching the quilting stitches because it wouldn’t fit in my machine, so I just did some small diagonal lines. I finally finished the binding this past summer.

It spent some time in the closet since I finished it in July but now that it’s Halloween time I’ve added it to the bed and I slept with it for the first time last night :) feeling very proud!

Insight on Onyx Apartments

Hi all, I'm moving to Chicago from Florida soon and I'm looking at apartments next week. I keep seeing this same company that has properties on various streets and they're all called "Onyx on [Road Name]".

The units look nice in photos and floor plans and they're perfectly in my price range. Though, I feel like the websites are lacking info and the initial "agent" you speak to is AI. I finally called one of the locations to set up a tour and the Real Human who answered said I should just arrive and ask to see a unit.

Just curious if anyone lives/lived at any of these properties and has any insights on the management and amenities.

Much appreciated!

I broke up with my boyfriend

We had been together for 2.5 years. I really did love him but I realized that I loved him as a friend. I identified as bisexual since I was 14 but it finally dawned on me that I was just a lesbian. I didn’t like having sex with men ever and it gave me such anxiety, and when my boyfriend discussed marriage I felt fear at the thought of being with a man forever.

We’ve currently decided to remain friends because we love to talk to each other. I don’t know what to do or think right now. I’m very proud of myself because it was so hard for me to get it out. I will miss him but I’m hoping we can remain close.

I’d love some support and encouraging words, if anyone has any to give.

Need to end things with bf

I think I’m a lesbian. I’ve identified as bi since I was 14 because I’ve definitely always liked women but now I’m thinking I’ve only ever liked men because I was conditioned to do so. I do not like having sex with men, even men who care about my needs in bed. I do not like having conversations with men.

I have a boyfriend of 2.5 years, and I’ve been realizing over the last few months that I think I’m just a lesbian. I think I want to tell him an end things. I love him so much but I think I just love him as a best friend. He’s the sweetest but I just don’t think I’ll ever fully be happy. Aside from my gay awakening, our relationship has been stale for months. I don’t want to lose him as a friend, and I think he’ll take it well. It’s just scary.

Does anyone actually like their Last Swab Q-Tip?

Over the years I’ve been replacing my items with reusable or plastic free options where I can as I run out of things.

I am a regular q-tip user. I pretty much only use them in my ears after a shower. I know you’re not supposed to do that - but you could start a candle factory with what comes out of my ears.

I usually opt for the q-tips that have a paper stick rather than a plastic, but they still come wrapped in plastic. I’ve just run out of q-tips and I’m wondering if there’s another alternative. I’ve always wondered if the Last Swab is actually worth it or if it’s just a product of green washing. If I buy it, will I end up with an item that will last and serve me my entire life, or will I be left with another piece of consumerist trash.

Also open to suggestions of other eco-friendly ear-cleaning solutions.

Xoxo

Songs from the perspective of traveling musicians

I’ve realized I have 3 songs in my library that tell tales of the musicians’ life on tour, playing music, never having a solid home but only having their music, missing family and friends while pursuing their dream. So naturally I need to make a playlist with those 3 songs and others. Any recommendations? Open to any genre, as well as any vibe (excited, melancholy, sad).

The 3 songs I have are:

The Beginning of the End by Billy Strings

American Dreaming by Sierra Ferrell

You Know It by Colony House

(Edit for spelling)
