What the hell do those people who ride the golf buggies actually do?

All the time I see them driving around doing god knows what. One even gave me some smirk as he saw me struggling to get from one end of the uni to another.

What?? Just driving around for fun I swear.

When will we as women achieve peace in the gaming community?

I've been interested in video games since I was a child. I remember scrolling Youtube in 2015 when I stumbled across the Fifa 16 trailer (I was also a tomboy really into soccer). I noticed all the horrible comments from men about how 'pointless' the addition of women's soccer was, alongside with all the kitchen jokes. I was so upset, little 12 year old me not realising this is how the male gender viewed women's sports, crying my eyes out when I found out about the pay differences of men and women's sports. I would play soccer with the boys at school and now I believe they have grown up to be like the men in the comments of that Youtube video. This is also that particular time when all those "SJW owned"/"feminist destroyed" videos were quite popular.

Throughout my childhood, I even looked up to Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series. I loved the way that she did all of those cool flips, defeated her enemies and would always overcome the challenges she faced. However, every time I would consume Lara Croft related videos, most of the comments were about her appearance. Some even criticised newer Tomb Raider games for making Lara appear "too muscly" and with smaller breasts.

Today, we see backlash from the gaming community about the new God of War game because of the exact same thing - the protagonist is a female and considered 'unattractive' to men's standards. They're even pulling the same laundry/kitchen jokes.

I'm so fucking frustrated. I am 23 now and 11 years have passed. We're still seeing the same nasty behaviour demonstrated by these men. More women are part of the gaming community now more than ever. We have female esports players and streamers yet they still cop backlash (see Gamergate), or are celebrated more for their appearance instead of their performance.

Men love to say how much they love women who game, but women who insert themselves too much into male-dominant hobbies are belittled or excluded. Although this discourse typically only occurs on the internet, I feel like this example demonstrates the perceptions men have of women in general, in conjunction with things like the redpill/alpha male movement. It seems like there have been minimal changes to issues like these and I would love to know what to do.

How can we encourage diversity and inclusion in ethnic enclaves?

I grew up around Parramatta's surrounding suburbs since the early 2000's. I've noticed that my suburb particularly knocked down buildings for the purposes of redevelopment/apartments. Additionally, there has been a big influx of one cultural group opening up businesses around the train line. Whilst I have no issues with particular cultural groups or businesses, I wish there were more options available to those not of this cultural group. For example, the majority of businesses around Wentworthville/Pendle Hill/Toongabbie train lines are operated by Desi people. I don't want to have to travel all the way to another suburb for Italian food, African food or Japanese food. According to the Census data, people of Indian descent make up the majority of this area. However, there are still others not of this cultural background that make up this region.

Why can we not encourage greater cultural diversity within communities? I believe in doing, we'd be able to strengthen community relationships and improve our suburbs for all residents.

Further evidence to lack of Croatian representation in FIFA merchandise??

https://www.coca-cola.com/au/en/offerings/fifa-world-cup-2026/can-hunt

Turkey, New Zealand and Egypt. Are we serious right now? This website is coming from Australia, where there are over 180k Croatian diaspora compared to 87k recorded Turkish diaspora. Turks in Australia aren’t even interested in football.

I’m losing my mind here trying to understand who is marketing the WC this year 😭

It seems “peak hour” is nonexistent in Sydney?

I was driving through Macquarie Park/Ryde and ended up going through James Ruse Drive today at around 12-1pm. Tell me why it’s absolutely filled on the roads. Admittedly not as much as 3-5pm, but enough where I wasn’t able to drive at a steady pace and was behind drivers sitting 10km under the speed limit.

Where is everyone going!? I don’t remember the roads being this congested pre-Covid. Is anyone else noticing this too? It seems not matter when I drive, unless it’s between 12am-4am, the roads are shocking!

Have you ever needed to humble a typical “Redditor” in public? If so, how did it go?

I’ve seen so many online memes of the typical Reddit user. They’re obnoxious, stubborn and usually begin their sentences with “acksually! 🤓” I attribute these people to the weird WW2 obsessed, nerdy guys back in high school.

At various retail and office jobs I’ve had in the past, I would encounter at least 1 typical Redditor. They were usually these fatter, middle aged white men. It seemed that they had either tried to talk down at me or make inappropriate jokes that I couldn’t respond to given that I was at work. At an immigration job I worked at, a New Zealander man was at the office getting an Australian visa. He sat in the office complaining about Australian politics and starting speaking to himself about different policies he didn’t agree with. I would have loved to tell him to shut up at go back to his own country, but I couldn’t at the time. These people just seem miserable and angry with the world and make it their mission to make others feel the same.

Have you ever had the opportunity to humble this type of “Redditor” in real life? Otherwise, I’d love to know about your successful experiences humbling users on this app.

Why is Croatia barely represented in FIFA merchandise?

Time and time again I see merchandise/promotional material for the World Cup pop up on my feed. I’ve noticed that Croatia is never represented in these advertisements. Croatia has literally qualified, been to both the semi-finals and grand final, yet they are barely recognised on an international scale.

Is this just what media I am consuming based in my area (I live in Australia)? For example, I’ve noticed that our local sports stores will sell other country jerseys, including Poland, but not Croatia. They continuously sell Italian jerseys though.

Leniency for school zone speeds near speed cameras

Hi all,

I just had a random shower thought. If you’re driving and say it’s 2:28pm and there are none of those flashing school zone signs around, but you pass through a school zone near a camera at 50km as the clock strikes 2:30pm, would you get booked?

I know there’s like a 1-2km/hr leniency with the speed cameras most times. But if you’re not constantly checking the minutes, could you argue you weren’t aware of school zone timings?
