Uber Drivers vs Waymo/autonomous vehicles

Hello all,

I’m an uber driver from London where they’re planning to launch waymo and other autonomous vehicle taxi apps soon.

Wanted some info on how that’s affected other cities in the US where they’ve already launched and are in full effect, whether that’s the waymos or other self driving taxi vehicles.

How have you as uber drivers in those cities seen demand or fares be impacted, has it slowed down your work on uber because of massive demand for self driving taxis instead ?

Let me know.

Thanks in advance 👍

Building a tech startup in a peculiar niche looking for advice/feedback/insight - lmk

I’ve been an uber/private hire driver in London for a few years and always kind of found myself not completely knowing what’s going on in my city, when certain train or airport Express lines were cancelled or down or relying on wrong information on events happening around me. Causing me to sometimes miss out on high demand from riders because I maybe arrived too late or read the WhatsApp chat a bit late.

So, I built what I was missing. The app is designed to help drivers like myself stay one step ahead of demand and always know what’s going on in their city. We provide all events across the city (even the ones not shown by uber or other websites), accurate event end times (we all know Ubers event timings are wrong a lot of the time 😂), transport updates and disruptions as well as up to date / to the second notifications when a train line goes down or is delayed causing a surge in rider demand and YOU to act and be ahead of everyone else. We’ve also implemented a custom ai agent that acts as a helper to users/drivers, preemptively notifying them of upcoming events, saving them to the app and pushing a notification so they’re aware of when to set off and catch that demand. Same with train/airport disruption - the ai is set up to act as a personal assistant to drivers that want to stay one step ahead and always be in the know. Major train line is down? App send a notification instantly. Flight is delayed by x hours? Notified immediately.

And this is not just an app for uber drivers or private hire drivers. Taxis, chauffeurs, rickshaw drivers (whether you like them or not 😂), and regular drivers of London wanting to know what’s going on in their city and whether or not their flight is delayed (yes we have flights too), their train is being cancelled or when that event is going to finish.

I’ve been building it for months and is near launch, we’ve got a few hundred in the waitlist but seem to be struggling gaining organic growth on socials.

Have removed the name to try make it less “advert-y” so it doesn’t get taken down again. But happy to provide more info if asked.

So yeah, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers 👋

The Only app an Uber Driver needs

I’ve been an uber/private hire driver in London for a few years and always kind of found myself not completely knowing what’s going on in my city, when certain train or airport Express lines were cancelled or down or relying on wrong information on events happening around me. Causing me to sometimes miss out on high demand from riders because I maybe arrived too late or read the WhatsApp chat a bit late.

So, I built what I was missing. DriveIQ Technologies. The DriveIQ app is designed to help drivers like myself stay one step ahead of demand and always know what’s going on in their city.

I’ve been building it for months and is near launch, would appreciate you all to check it out and share it with others if you could. We’re on all socials @driveiqapp, and the website is:
