Lineage: (Lemon Cherry Gelato X Animal Cookies) x Good Greens Candy

Consumption Method: DHV @ 385°F

Price: $17/1g

**Appearance 9/10**

\- Bud size and density: medium sized, fairly hard nugs

\- Color: Beautiful mix of green and dark purple covered in orange pistils

\- Trichome coverage: frosty but not freakishly frosty

\- Moisture level: more moist than I like

\- Overall notes: Buds were very moist, broke apart when separated, color and trichome coverage was consistent inside and out; in fact they were so moist that they did not easily grind up and fairly large pieces were left in the grinder which I had to manually push through the holes into the main chamber to collect them. Not a bad thing, just notable.

**Aroma 10/10**

\- Strength: not loud at all unless you put your nose close to the the herb; when sniffed, the aroma has a very pleasant delivery, not sharp, not harsh, very much a hug to the nose

\- Dominant scents: vanilla all day, when ground up scents of red fruit candy comes through

\- Complexity: moderate complexity, the first whiff will be straight vanilla cake, a deeper and more thoughtful whiff would reveal candy through the vanilla but there aren't any other scents

\- Overall notes: Fantastic aroma. Really the aroma and flavor sells the flower.

**Flavor 10/10**

\- Inhale: red fruit candy

\- Exhale: red fruit candy and vanilla

\- Aftertaste: red fruit candy, very long lasting flavor

\- Overall notes: I immediately understood why this strain is named as it is. I found myself smacking my lips and remember thinking, "I have no idea why but I'm smacking my lips." The flavor will make you smack your lips whether you like it or not. I quite liked it. I continued to taste the subtle sweetness as if I had just finished eating a jolly rancher.

**Smoke/Vapor Quality 10/10**

\- Smoothness: exceptional

\- Harshness: none

\- Burn quality or vapor production: moisture levels provided nice dense vapor

\- Overall notes: satisfying hit to the lungs with clouds for days, no harshness at all.

**Effects 10/10**

\- Onset speed: \~10 minutes.

\- Head high: mild

\- Body high: significant muscle relaxation, but no heaviness or couchlock

\- Mood effects: mellowed out, reduction in anxiety, pulled inward, not encouraged to make conversation, more interested in enjoying the moment and your mind

\- Energy level: no change

\- Duration: very tolerance dependent but 1 hour of a solid effects for those with low tolerance using a DHV

\- Overall notes: I would say that this is total relaxation herb if you want to still go about your day but need relief in your body and stress/anxiety reduction in your mind.

**Medical/Functional Benefits 8/10 (psychological/social pain), 8/10 (physical pain)**

\- Stress relief: no euphoria, but mental clarity and calm

\- Pain relief: body feels loose without being weighted down

\- Sleep aid: no

\- Appetite stimulation: doesn't cause munchies, but food does taste better, and actually I was able to stop myself from eating certain things and subbing out healthier options consciously; some herb just makes me eat anything and everything

\- Anxiety effects: Total anxiety relief.

\- Overall notes: A great herb for both mind and body relaxation without feeling too stoned. This herb is not a total head rush nor is it a total couchlock. A solid representation of a "hybrid".

**Potency 7/10**

\- Strength relative to tolerance: 0.1g bowl hit **twice** was sufficient for a 3 hour session.

\- Suitable for beginners or experienced users: Absolutely. Very mild and balanced effects would allow a beginner to "smooth out" their high rather than be pulled in one direction (head pulled off your body or body melted into the couch)

\- Overall notes: This herb was not narcotic. It didn't lay me on the floor, it was easy to manage. No paranoia, no anxiety, no couchlock. Just left me feeling great in my body. Some strains exhaust your mind and body by what they're doing, particularly to beginners. This strain was a pleasure.

**Value 2/10**

\- Price paid: $17/1g

\- Quality for the price: Very low.

\- Overall notes: The effects as I said are enjoyable and pleasant. But the right price for this herb should be $10/1g or $35/8th. $17/1g for an herb which does not take me on a journey (orange push pop recently comes to mind), isn't ripping my head off my body (J1 was like that), isn't couchlocking me, and isn't borderline psychedelic (Flo is like that) is not a fair price.

**Overall Rating 8.25/10.**

**Best For**

\- Time of day: anytime

\- Activities: relaxing, watching TV, podcasts, sex.

\- Ideal user: anyone seeking a very balanced and smooth high with no heaviness in the body or mind

Final Thoughts

\- Would I buy again? Only if it's on a 25% sale.

\- Would I recommend it? If it's on sale.

\- Comparison to similar strains: LCG but with a more candy and vanilla taste, and I believe a better high. LCG was always underwhelming for me.

\- Additional comments: The smell and taste are fucking phenomenal. Worth trying for the aroma and flavor.

J1 - Clade9

Lineage: Skunk #1 x Jack Herer

Consumption Method: DHV

Price: $60/8th but bought for $48/8th on sale.

Appearance 8/10

- Bud size and density: medium sized buds, delicate, loose.

- Color: Lime green

- Trichome coverage: frosty but not freakishly frosty

- Moisture level: on the dry side

- Overall notes: buds felt delicate, just the slightest press made them fall apart, but the color was classic weed and trichomes were not falling off the bud.

Aroma 10/10

- Strength: not room-filling but is clearly noticeable in your immediate viscinity; when sniffed, penetrates deep in the nose

- Dominant scents: black pepper, rosemary, lemon peel

- Complexity: the scent itself is not complex, though the above 3 smelling notes are pronounced

- Overall notes: the scent on this is one of my favorites, makes my mouth water, beautifully sharp and refreshing.

Flavor 10/10

- Inhale: lemon

- Exhale: peppery herbal

- Aftertaste: my mouth was extremely garlicky from dinner and somehow this strain just wiped that garlic breath away leaving an herbal, slightly lemony taste

- Overall notes: the smell is exactly in the taste, which is always a treat and earns the high grade

Smoke/Vapor Quality 9/10

- Smoothness: on the inhale very smooth, exhale can have delayed coughs

- Harshness: not especially smooth, not noticeably harsh

- Burn quality or vapor production: dryness of the buds was a positive for the vaporizer

- Overall notes: the vapor was light, not waxy but still felt a little expansive in the lungs to give a satisfying hit

Effects 10/10

- Onset speed: ~10 minutes.

- Head high: totally

- Body high: almost none

- Mood effects: uplifted

- Energy level: energized but no raciness or paranoia, liked that this did not lead to a crash after effects wore off, no sleepiness at the tail end.

- Duration: very tolerance dependent but 1 hour of a solid uplift is expected after a bowl of this in a DHV for those with low tolerance.

- Overall notes: I would say that this is anytime herb, but for most people would be better for social gatherings or conversation. Not good for pain relief or sleeping.

Medical/Functional Benefits 8/10 (psychological/social pain), 0/10 (physical pain)

- Stress relief: no euphoria, but the uplift helps.

- Pain relief: None.

- Sleep aid: No.

- Appetite stimulation: Doesn't cause munchies, but if you start eating then you'll eat a little bit of everything out of interest and curiosity.

- Anxiety effects: None.

- Overall notes: I'd say this would be fine for emotional issues (consult with a doctor), but for aches and pains definitely not.

Potency 10/10

- Strength relative to tolerance: 0.1g bowl was sufficient for 3-4 hours.

- Suitable for beginners or experienced users: I am an experienced user. Low tolerance doesn't mean inexperienced. I would say a beginner should try this but to take it slow because hyper focus can lead to paranoia in some who don't know how to control what they're experiencing.

- Overall notes: This herb was not narcotic. It didn't lay me on the floor, it was easy to manage and did not have the jitteriness and paranoia that sativas are known for.

Value 8/10

- Price paid: $48/8th

- Quality for the price: High.

- Overall notes: I would pay the full $60 if I had to. It's that refreshingly good.

Overall Rating 9.1/10 (for rec/psychological/social use), 0/10 (for physical pain)

Best For

- Time of day: daytime or night time espresso

- Activities: conversation, reading, watching sports, podcasts, walking and talking on the phone, sex.

- Ideal user: experienced or curious beginners who are seeking a very different type of high, i.e. something other than the couch lock sleepy time herbs that dominate the market.

Final Thoughts

- Would I buy again? Abso-fucking-lutely.

- Would I recommend it? Yes.

- Comparison to similar strains: Jack Herer but without jitters.

- Additional comments: my first thought while high on this was "I need to buy more."

Cherry Slushee - Kind Tree

Sorry for the crappy pics, particularly of the bud.

Packaging - 5/5: Glass jar is nice, but no humidity pack inside which would normally result in a docked point but they have a WHOPPING 3.8g!! In this day and age where people are getting scammed for 0.25g, I appreciate the extra 0.3g! With a dry herb vape (DHV), that's another 3-5 sessions for me.

Bud structure - 5/5: Solid, nicely cured, easily breaks apart but has a good amount of moisture. Beautiful orange and white hairs all over, not the frostiest I've seen but the trichomes shimmer like stars in the flash pic. Extremely resinous buds. When I tried to break a piece off to grind up, my fingers instantly stuck together. My grinder got gunked up and needed help getting the ground bud through the holes since the pieces were getting stuck inside the holes!

Scent - 5/5: Shove your nose in the jar and take a LONG whiff. This has a phenomenal scent. Strong eucalyptus upfront that cools your nostrils which transitions into prominent notes of fennel seed. I say fennel seed because it isn't a gross licorice candy scent, it's a beautiful herbal scent with the softest notes of anise, which is best characterized as fennel seed. At the finish there is a dankness, but it is overwhelmed by the above scents.

Loaded into a dosing capsule for a DHV set to 370°F

Flavor - 3/5: Honestly, to me, most weed just tastes like weed with little variations here and there. There may be a little sweetness in this one, and maybe a little mintiness from the Kush Mintz parent, but I didn't perceive it too much, even with a DHV. I can tell the aftertaste is clean, not skunky like other weeds may have.

Effects - 4/5; introspective, focused, stoned, muscular relief: Initial phase is fairly tingly with a notable cessation of joint pain in my ankles and knees and muscular soreness in my chest from a workout. Thoughts stayed fairly normal, no giggles, no unusually hyper conversation which is often caused by more uplifting strains. I did not feel euphoria from this one. About 2 hours into the journey (as I write this), a strong urge to close my eyes and sleep came over me. So the entire effect progression is: muscular relaxation, joint relief, linear thoughts --> subtle drowsiness. Docked a point because I've had bud that has a wider range of effects (intense euphoria to strong body stone within the same bud), and even when a bud was meant to be a body stone-only one, there have been more body massage feeling ones, like waves rolling over my body...that didn't happen here. I got this on sale, so I didn't pay too much of a premium price for this relaxing experience.

I would say this strain doesn't cause a high, moreso a body stone. I could think straight, and remain "normal", but my physical presence was a non-issue to me. I felt like I could just "be" and that my body is there for the ride. I had the cognitive ability to write this review in this state, deep into the effects. That can tell you what you need to know. I imagine this is wonderful for people with chronic pains who want to go about their days without being too sedated or feel "high".

Ultimate question: would I buy this again? Yes. It's meant for a quiet night where you may want to relieve some aches and pains, lie down, and relax. I'm curious to try this at 385°F to see if there's much variation.

Not an actuary, for clarification. For early career folks in this line of work, what else is out there? What does a career trajectory look like in this space? I've heard some say that one can transition into sell-side banking, but not sure how feasible or desirable that is given the intensity. Would asset managers even care about this type of experience?

Curious how folks suggest building a career in this space.
