What was up with that bit, where Ned buys Sharkfire Energy? It struck me as odd that it was there, and then never brought up again. Was it just a reference to something earlier that I've forgotten?

I often see the term close cousins/closely related when talking about dinosaurs, especially Velociraptor or other dromaeosaurs and modern birds. But if they are thought of as close, can't anything be considered close??

Velociraptor and early birds (by Archaeopteryx) lived about 75 million years apart. That's a lot of time to be split off from each other. Our general mammal ancestors lived 65 million year from us modern humans. By keeping to the same logic, can't we the say we are closely related to cats, dogs, horses, etc?

Is it mainly about form? Birds and velociraptors have a lot of similarities, but obviously not entirely. And we, humans, of course say we are closely related to other apes.

Jeg går og leger med tanken om at beklæde indersiden af en ydrevæg med krydsfiner, bygge hylder, osv. Tanken er at lave et tøjskab, som er større og mere gennemført, end den måde det er på nu.

Men skal jeg have nogle centimeter luft, for at forhindre svamp? Eller er der andet jeg skal tage højde for? Det er en alm murstensvæg, og den vender mod sydøst.

I'm doing some initial research for a possible future project - historical fiction taking place 1800 years ago. I'm looking into how I would make the geography understandable for the reader.

Obviously, the names of any towns or areas were not around back then. And to top it off, this period/place has almost zero written sources, so we have no idea what they'd call places. I won't need to explain exact locations for everything, but I feel like the reader needs to know at least some places. Should I just put the current place name in the footnotes, or how would you do it?

I'm curious. Watched Best and Last last night, and the theater was so quiet. Granted, we were only about 10 people in the room. And of course culture also plays into it. But honestly, the only thing that really made me laugh out was the grandpa bit. What was your experience seeing Best and Last?
