U Hurt Me - with visuals from free android music visual casting app

if you want to try the app, the link is here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/milkdrop/s/zkjJSMDPNQ

it offers real-time, four-source seperation (vocals/percussion/bass/anything else (synth/guitar/keyboard) which is why you see different visuals react to different parts of the music. You can also replace individual components or just make random changes so you can get heaps of combinations of different presets. It will work with spotify/tidal/local files on device, can control the time scale, can chromecast.

preset in video is called: 'why the sky looks diffrent today' - by adamfx, martin, flexi

you can just search in app - the keyword diffrent with the typo should pull it up (there are a few variations and it's one of these)

let me know if cast works for you, it seems to be working on most tvs tested so far.

The preset looks even better in person, or in a raw video recording. I made the recording of the whole TV to make clear that the app is chromecasting to the tv.

Help test Waves Music Visualiser on Android

Hi,

I’ve been working on Waves Music Visualiser, a free Android music visualiser built around the MilkDrop/projectM engine.

A big part of the starting library comes from the stronger community-authored preset collections.

Waves can analyse the music in real time to seperate sources into bass, drums/percussion, vocals and other instrumentation (keyboards/synths/guitar etc). Therefore, different parts of the visuals can respond to different musical sources.

I’ve added time scaling, so the evolution of a preset can be slowed down and also variations, where shapes, waves, shaders, warp and feedback can all be replaced or combined to build new presets.

Waves can react to music playing on Android such as Spotify/Tidal/local files and can also cast the visuals/music/synced lyrics to a TV using Chromecast.

I’m now trying to complete Google Play’s closed-testing requirement before releasing it more widely. The app is free, and I’m looking for Android users willing to install it, play some music through it and ideally give any feedback/test if cast works for you.

To join the test

  1. Join the Waves testing Google Group: https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/waves-music-visualiser-testing
  2. Sign in with the Google account you use on your Android device and click Join group.
  3. Once you’ve joined, open this link or the link you see when you join the group. There might be a small waiting period or you might have to refresh the page once or twice. Someone said the wait can be up to two hours.https://play.google.com/apps/testing/au.mightyduckapps.waves
  4. If needed, try the direct Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=au.mightyduckapps.waves

One note for Chromecast is that you have to leave the app open for Chromecast to run smooth, meaning you can't turn the screen off, or place Waves into the background. If you do put the phone to sleep you will see the cast starting to struggle.

A sample of some visuals playing on phone: https://youtube.com/shorts/JhuUopVWtdg

Chromecast sent to TV: https://youtu.be/me2JZJEPy2c?si=2RoapzlXvva6fk8Y

I also have a desktop version I used during debugging which I can release soon, for now I am just trying to get the Google Play testing requirement complete.

Thanks to anyone who tries it out, and if you have any questions or issues, please let me know. I am definitely interested in hearing if you are able to cast it to your tv.

When playing against someone from another country on their server, i am sure that they would get an advantage

In Australia, every game is against someone from either Mumbai or Singapore. I think they must have an advantage as they get to use their local server.

I would like a very simple matchmaking filter to avoid people from other countries. No other game makes you match up against these countries.

Matchmaking country filtet

Why is there no restriction on cross country matchmaking?

If I live in Australia, I don't want to verse people in Mumbai.
