I am working in a truly wonderful team. Teammates i actually enjoy talking to, a boss who mentors without being a micro manager, and fights for my benefits and growth. The company culture is also pretty chill, so I have great work life balance and get to spend my extra time with people I love and my hobbies.

I quitted a week ago.

I got an opportunity to work in one of the best tech companies in the world, with a 2.5x increase in salary. It is truly a dream come true on paper. Based on first interactions though, I suspect the manager will not be as generous as my current manager, and that she will be a high touch person. That, of course, still waits to be confirmed.

My current workplace has not taken my pending departure well. My manager was on the verge of tears when I resigned. With the frozen headcount in the company, I am not sure whether he will be allowed to hire a replacement, and that will definitely leave a huge gap in coverage. Leadership in the company has reached out to get me to stay, with the most attractive offer being able to work entirely remotely.

I am unsure what to do. I feel quite guilty about quitting when everyone has been so wonderful and nurturing. I know that I have been very lucky and wonder whether I should continue counting my blessings instead of taking this new plunge. What do you guys think?
