Bottles are normal spice bottles, so not a TON but still way more than my normal cooking would ever use. Any recipes where dried dill stars in large amounts?
Seeing signs for Andy T's but I don't want to drive all the way to St. John's. Where can I get a large amount of fresh corn on the cob for canning purposes?
This was posted in the Old Celebrity Recipes sub. Most of the time it's a lot of Jell-O monstrosities and crazy diets a la Joan Crawford, but this made my scrolling come to a screeching halt.
My husband and I live in the country now and want to get a small flock in the next year or so. We're planning on getting our setup together this year for chicks next spring. We live in mid-Michigan and are surrounded by fields which are empty in winter, so the wind can get pretty strong. We don't currently have any outdoor electricity available, so we weren't sure if that's an issue and something we need to figure out for the coop.
My thinking is that chickens were kept over winter long before electricity, so there has to be a proper way to do it without supplemental heating being necessary. I also want to do right by my chickens and keep them comfy and happy.
Any thoughts/ideas/breed recommendations/ considerations we should be taking would be highly appreciated!
I saw a post on the cat advice sub about how stainless steel litter boxes are better/no smell, and someone commented that they use full-size hotel pans instead of traditional litter boxes. 6" deep full pan with 4" deep perforated pan & litter pellets. Seems like a damn good idea, & I'm honestly thinking of running out to grab a few pans.......
