stupid things that social anxiety makes you do, feel free to share yours

hi, so as i am sitting at work with cup full of ice at my desk cause the work coffee machine needs add beans and i am not able to do that cause i am afraid some might come to the kitchen at the same time as me, what's the most stupid thing social anxiety made you do? some of mine:

- avoiding coffee machine at work for a year cause i didn't want to ask how to use it so i watched youtube tutorials and colleagues from distance before finding the courage to do it myself.

- avoiding doctor appointments for years when making one requires a phone call.

- waiting a few steps away from flat building entrance when i see someone going in at the same time as me so i stand outside pretending i am doing something on my phone or waiting for someone and only enter once the person leaves.

- rather going multiple floors on stairs than sharing an elevator with someone.

- waiting until last minute to join work call to avoid any talking before.

- sometimes hiding my IG stories in front of certain people (usually colleagues) even though i am sure they don't care about me that much.

- feeling super anxious when something bigger and good happens to me cause i don't want people asking me about it (when i met my favourite actor and shared it on IG, i then had stomach ache from going to work cause i knew people will ask about it).

- planning my leaving work that way so i meet the least people to need to say "hi" to and getting super anxious when i know there are people in my reach but not enough so i wouldn't need to raise my voice which usually isn't enough anyway so they don't hear me and then i feel even worse.

- straight up running from some situations like a small kid despite being almost 30 years old with a job, own living and a partner.

- freezing in some situations when someone directly talks to me and i am not able to reply which makes that person mad cause they think i am just being rude and ignoring them.

- needing to eat with headphones on at work cause it helps me to forget there are other people in the office.

- feeling the urge to cry anytime people start laughing at groups or being too loud overall.

- being super talkative and leading things in online spaces, fandoms etc. where i feel comfortable while wishing to be invisible irl and feeling intense shame once someone asks about my interests.

and many more i can't remember now 😭

this game feels so alive

i love how i don't spend just the whole day taking care of zoi's needs, they sleep at night, their needs aren't plummeting and even with kids they can actually spend time in town doing things cause the switching between zois is so nice, also there is constantly something happening around them

tried inzoi for the first time and i am in awe

i was avoiding inzoi for a long time because my graphic card is far away from recommended specs but to my surprise it runs smooth on medium settings and i have been having sm fun ❤️

i feel like with all life sim games i had issues that i had a lot of blank spaces in a sim day where i didn't know what to do with them but somehow in inzoi it flows so well with urges, interactive jobs, WASD controls instead of just mouse clicking. also the fact it's still early access and it already offers so much, i can't wait what future will bring ✨

what to do with the post hair tie frizz?

hi, i have really thin and fine hair and anytime i put them into scrunchie bun or that plastic spiral hair tie, they always get so frizzy after, like when people sleep with braids to have wavy hair but my hair change shape and get frizzy even after an hour with a bun 😭 does anyone have any tips for this?

getting yourself in trouble cause you can't talk or move in situations you know you absolutely should

hii, 28F here, does this happen to you too? i am diagnosed audhd but struggle with social anxiety since early childhood and it still happens to me in certain situations that when it requires some extra communication, i just avoid it but not in a way i would decide or want it but something in me doesn't allow me.

like for example today i got assigned a task at work which felt difficult for me and i knew that if i went to my more senior colleague and asked for help, she would help as she is really nice and it would be much easier but i just couldn't bring myself to do it, it's like a huge mass in me which just blocks me completely. or when i was at university in spanish lesson and we should speak in pairs and that poor girl asked me questions and i wasn't able to answer her even though everything in me screamed "just say something !!"

sometimes it's subtle things i don't always realize i am doing but it's delivering finished tasks just before lunch break or going home so no one can immediately come to me with feedback or ask me things. i can see in myself avoidant tendencies, i go to therapies and am on medication, except this i feel content and stable in life but nothing really helps to this. once i block like this, i can't talk or do anything even though i know it can get me into trouble in some, especially work like, situations. any tips for this?

even slightly windy weather makes me want to shave my head and wear wigs

i hate how no matter how you style your hair, the moment you step outside and even tiny bit of breeze makes your hair immediately flat, greasy and three rat tails and no matter what you wear or how your make up looks, you just look so ugly and unmaintained. does anyone here have any tips please? 🙏 i am so tireddd
