Unqualified handyman breaking something vs an insurance claim
Used a guy know for odd jobs, to try work out why my water bill was so high. He did something that only caused more damage.
I've made an insurance claim for the damage he caused. They've assessed, and said they accept the quote we got from a builder. But the third party assessor on behalf of the insurance company is asking for the handyman details.
A quick Google search suggests plumbing work needs to completed by a qualified professional. If they find out he isn't, could this invalidate my claim?
I'd also rather not provide his details and get him in trouble or liable for costs..
