Super cheap bike rental during utmb-week

Hey!

I'm looking for somewhere to rent two super cheap bikes for 24.-27. august roughly. Just for saving the legs while getting about in Chamonix. Anyone know of a good tip? Or even private people willing to rent out?

Cheers

What's actually provided at CCC 2026 aid stations?

Racing CCC this year (28 August) and trying to nail down my nutrition plan. Does anyone have a full rundown of what's actually offered at the aid stations, both drinks and food? Trying to figure out what I need to carry myself vs. what I can count on getting there.

Most importantly, exactly what drink mix from naak is offered for 2026.

How can I estimate the share of buildings below 250 m² from only count, total area, mean, and median per building type?

I am working with aggregated building-area statistics by building type. For each building type, I have:

  • Number of buildings
  • Total floor area
  • Mean floor area
  • Median floor area

I do not have the underlying building-level observations.

The practical goal is to estimate, for each building type, the share of buildings with floor area below 250 m².

My current thinking is to assume a reasonable statistical distribution for floor area within each building type, then use the available summary statistics to estimate (P(X < 250)). Since floor areas are positive and likely right-skewed, I am considering distributions such as:

  • Lognormal
  • Gamma
  • Weibull
  • Possibly a mixture distribution for categories that contain both many small buildings and a few very large ones

The challenge is that mean and median differ a lot for some building types, which suggests skewness, but I am unsure how much can be inferred from only these aggregate statistics.

Questions:

  1. Is it statistically defensible to estimate (P(X < 250)) from only count, mean, median, and total area?
  2. Which distributional assumption would be most reasonable for building floor area by building type?
  3. Can mean and median be used to fit a lognormal distribution, and then estimate the share below 250 m²?
  4. How should I handle building types where the category is heterogeneous, for example retail, offices, culture, or light industry?
  5. Would it be better to present the result as a scenario or sensitivity analysis rather than a point estimate?

Any advice on a sound but pragmatic approach would be appreciated.

Recommendations for a hybrid/road-to-trail shoe

Hey! Do you have any recommendations for a hybrid/road-to-trail shoe — road-biased but with enough outsole for gravel and light trail? Looking at Adidas EVO SL ATR, Mount 2 Coast H1, Salomon GRVL, HOKA Challenger 8, and Brooks Ghost Trail. Salomon's last is too narrow for me.
