Trying to pay attention to color theory and I'm struggling with lighter values. I feel like every time I paint I have to pour out titanium white to get the intended lightness. Using the Munsell scale for reference, I often start mixing aiming for 9 or 8 but end up at 6.. I don't think I'm using too much water; I end up on the side of dry brushing more often than not. This really becomes a problem with skies and water in some paintings, like this one.
Any tips?
i quite enjoyed my time in victoria and wanted to share my appreciation :)
I paint all the bikes I've owned, and this beauty is the latest addition.
