Maybe my memory is failing me, but does this intersection get repaved every other year or what? 😂
I drive through here all the time and honestly don’t remember there being any major potholes or rough spots. Yet these roads are undergoing yet another repaving.
Does anyone else think this? Or have insights?
Wondering how the school supports students after the incident on Wednesday. When I was in highschool, the same thing happened at a Catholic school in Markham (with tracks behind) but school never said anything. The not acknowledging made it felt like there was a lack of support for students. It actually felt worse for rumours to be going around the school. At another Markham highschool, there were rumours about an incident about a girl j-walking from school to plaza, again nothing from the school. Never warning from school reminding students to be safe. Nothing about mental health services. I am wondering how mental health support has changed from when I was in school and hoping there's better support now?
I have an interview coming up with Ontario Power Generation for an office role, and I’m trying to get a better sense of the work environment from current or former employees.
A few things I’m curious about:
- What’s the overall work culture like for staff?
- good work-life balance?
- How does hybrid work actually work there right now?
- Is it team-dependent or union-dependent?
- do employees expect unions to push to keep hybrid work in future agreements?
- does the company seem to be moving toward more in-office presence over time?
I’ve heard different things about office locations:
- Are employees being consolidated into Oshawa now? Or is there still a significant Toronto presence?
Any “wish I knew before joining” advice?
