Winter is coming

With winter getting closer here in Norway, I’ve started preparing for the colder months with our chickens, quail and ducks.
I’ve been reading quite a bit about how different poultry handle cold weather, especially when it comes to moisture, ventilation, frozen water and keeping their housing dry. I ended up putting everything together in an article, along with some of the sources I’ve used.
Thought I’d share it here in case it’s useful for anyone else getting ready for winter too. 🙂

Two of our beautiful Coturnix quail

Two of our beautiful Coturnix quail enjoying a quiet day.
We raise quail on our small Norwegian homestead, Den Lille Hagen, and they’re quickly becoming one of our favorite birds to keep.
Happy to be part of the quail community!
