Spun a Pokestop that I rejected when reviewing

Mostly I find it funny, plus it's a good example of something being in the game doesn't mean it should have been eligible or let through.

The stop is for a dog park a few blocks from my place. I recognize the park name because I've spun the existing stop for it a whole bunch, so when it showed up in my queue, it was a matter of seconds to find the picture and mark it as duplicate.

It's got the same name, the stops are 0.04km apart, and it's a dog park so fairly small and just a fenced grass area. But the new stop uses a different sign, so I'm guessing either reviewers didn't realize it was a duplicate or they approved because they were voting based on the sign.

I'm not complaining about a new stop that close to home, but also a good example that a stop being in the game isn't proof that it meets criteria, even if it's a recent stop.

PSA: the RSVP feature is super convenient for raiding off friends list

With events like Road of Legends or Go Fest Global, it can be hard to get a lobby big enough for the raids - the popular areas fill too fast for you to get in, slower areas don't get enough players.

The RSVP feature helps with bypassing this. Jump into a raid off the friends list and if the lobby is full, RSVP for the next available time slot. In somewhere like Tokyo or NYC, the next time slot will probably fill too and you'll be able to join that lobby.

It works best for these events because raids are typically on a consistent schedule - starting at :00 and :30, with an RSVP at the 0:15 and 0:45 mark. Check the first list in the first 10ish minutes, RSVP, snag the raid at the halfway point.

I did this with a couple of friends during Chicago Go Fest and it let them catch raids remotely at Lincoln Park.

Buddy a Bisharp for Skarmory raids if you need to evo it

You have to beat 15 steel or dark type raids with Bisharp as your buddy in order to evo it to Kingambit. Skarmory is steel/flying, so mega raid day is a good time to work on that.

You don't have to do anything with it once it's your buddy - it doesn't have to fed, it can stay at 0 hearts, as long as it's your buddy when you beat the raid.

LF: incinerate smeargle FT: LO/FP Smeargle

I'd also be interested in Smeargle with any other good movesets.

I try to keep at least one Lock On/Flying Press smeargle in my remote tag, I'm also happy to give anything from my free tag (non-shiny legends or dmax, CD shinies, regionals, etc)

rare candy usage tips

I'm currently planning where to use rare candy and I thought other people might find it helpful.

Raids drop a decent amount of rare candy, plus Tokyo had field research that gave it as a reward. In past years, I've found that it ends up overfilling my bag and I don't want to spend time during the event itself figuring out who needs the candy. So I'm trying to sort it in advance.

**Rare Candy**

Adventure effects are the best use for it. Kyurem and Palkia are 5 candy for 10 minutes. That's 270 candy for a full 9 hour day of gameplay, or 1080 candy total. I'm not anticipating getting significantly more than that over four days.

**Rare Candy XL**

I want to use them for the Pokemon that are 20km a candy, that I can't easily farm and/or that I don't currently have candy for. So search strings to find those:

* Candykm20: Anything that takes 20km for a candy.

* Count-3: This is the total count of the pokemon you currently have in your storage. I find this covers all the pokemon that are limited per account because they're from special research or similar.

* Countcandyxl-295: It takes 296 candy XL to get from 40 to 50. This will find anything that doesn't have enough to go from 40 to 50. You can also do countcandy-295 to search based on regular candy rather than candy XL.

* Changing the amount: The numbers above are suggestions, it'll work with any other number too. Dash before is anything up to or including the number, dash after is anything at the number or higher. So countcandyxl-500 is anything that you have 500 or less rare candy of. Candykm5- is anything that takes 5km or more walking for a candy.

* Combining search strings: comma is or, ampersand is and. So candykm20&count-3,countcandyxl-295 will bring up anything that is 20km for walking and either I have less than 3, or I have less than 295xl

If you want to save the search, use it to search your poke storage - make sure to scroll through results a bit. Then go to the search bar and hit "see more" to see recent searches. Long press on a search to save it as a favorite.

Party play and route spawns?

Has anyone seen anything from Tokyo that would give insight into what, if anything, might be featured in party play or route spawns?

The official page says increased time for party play by no mention of whether the challenges will be event-specific.

Finally got one! Any other movesets to grind for next?

It's been 431 days of making sure smeargle is my first buddy of the day, it'd be super weird to do snapshots of any random buddy.

Is there another moveset worth hunting for?

You can enable or disable the super rocket radar from your storage bag. When enabled, you'll get decoy grunts on the map. Giovanni will always appear in the next balloon.

If a decoy grunt or Giovanni is on a stop, it's there for the day (expiring at 10pm). That stop won't spawn any regular grunts or leaders during the time that it's got the decoy or Giovanni. This is true whether or not you have a super rocket radar in your bag.

In other words, having the super rocket radar makes it easier to find and farm grunts, leaders, or buddy EP.

Decoy grunts count towards grunt research. They also drop mysterious components, making it easier to farm leaders. Since they stay on the stop they're on, you can reliably battle and quit every 30 min for the buddy EP.

I did this with the last super rocket radar for the BB plat medal and the level up challenges. I wanted leaders/grunts in my balloons, so I mostly kept the super rocket radar disabled, but if I was out and hunting, I'd enable it so that I could farm the extra grunts (got a shiny shadow bellsprout out of it!)

If I was staying in range of a stop with a decoy or Giovanni, I'd keep the radar active, battle every 30 min for the buddy points, then defeat it before I was leaving or at 9:45pm, whichever came first.

If you want the current shadow Landorous, you just have to remember to defeat the boss before it switches over - I did mine this week Monday, got my Thundurus, and I'm planning to save the new super rocket radar until next season's taken over.

I live in range of two stops, with a third that's just close enough to sometimes get picked up by the go++

The biggest roadblock was remembering to trash berries and potions so there's space in the item bag.
