Galaxy S25 and RFID question

There's a project I attempted just for fun that isn't working. I'm hoping it's feasible but it might not be. So I play lasertag with a system where you can choose a custom code name. They print you off a plastic card with some form of RFID in it. You swipe the card across the pack and it turns on. Your code name stores your stats and achievements.

What I'd like to do is import the card info to my S25 and then have it emulate the card. Then I could just swipe my phone across the pack instead of the card. It's not really more convenient then the card. I just wanted to see if it's possible.

According to my searching an old version of Samsung wallet would let you program generic RFIDs like gym memberships or electronic deadbolt fobs into it. Now it requires you to choose from participating programs. So I started looking in to other apps. I've found apps that can scan the card but when I try to import the data it errors out saying something is missing.

What info from the scan should I share to help you all give me an answer?

Problem with my magnetic knife block.

So I scored a maple offcut for $10. The grain was running the wrong direction for the size of cut I wanted. But for $10 I couldn't complain. But now I have the problem you see in the photo. If the magnets hadn't ended up being so expensive and I hadn't glued them in I'd just get a new piece of wood and start over. Any chance a thin aluminum bar attached to the back could fix this?

Odd charging situation

I went to one of my favorite parks this morning. They have four trickle charging Chargepoint towers and they're free to use from 7am - 6pm. But when I pulled up there was a really old moterhome plugged in to the charger. Not sure what they could have been charging.

Magnets and wood,

Does anyone know generally how much magnetic resistance you get per thickness of wood. As in how thin do I need to make wood with magnets embedded behind it for metal to stick to the front?

Edit: Thanks for all the great responses. I have a 12 pack of bar magnets showing up Saturday from Amazon. Now I need to figure out what type of wood. Part of me wants to go get a piece of reclaimed barn wood and remove the top layer of grey patina. But I already have a good bit of barn wood in the kitchen (with and without the patina) for other things. So I might get a brand new piece of S4S something or other.

Frontrange Timber Question

Does anyone know what happened to Frontrange Timber that was located on the frontage road next to 36th? Did they close permanently or are they going to reopen somewhere else? Does anyone have any good recommendations for a place to buy reclaimed barnwood?

Frigidaire fridge issues

I have a two door frenchdoor fridge / freezer. Several years ago the GFCI circuit the fridge is on kept tripping. There are two outlets on the circuit. The one directly behind the fridge and the GFCI above the countertop next to it. I replaced the outlet behind the fridge and later the GFCI. Back then the problem ended up being the defrost drain being frozen over with a large block of ice. The GFCI has started tripping again daily but the drain port isn't frozen over this time.

Any thoughts on the problem would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Sketchup make 2017?

I just bought a new laptop. I had SK MK 2017 on my old laptop. But my new computer is a chrome book. Is there a free downloadable version that runs on Chrome?

Cup holder adapter?

I have a waterbottle I real like but it's slighty too big for my second gen leaf's cup holders. Has anyone found an insert that mushrooms out to a larger holder above?

Jig and sled question?

I have some leftover basically 2 x 2's from my last project. I want to cut them in to thin squares on my new tablesaw. I bought a zero clearance throat plate designed for the saw. Now I'm planning on making my first ever sled. But I was also looking at buying a thin rip jig. Is there a good way to incorporate the jig into the sled? Especially since the jig is supposed to ride in the guide slots of the table. Maybe cut a short guide slot in the surface of the sled towards the front? Or would it be better to just use the standard miter guage and the thin rip jig. I'm still going to make the sled but do I need the jig if I have the sled?

Lubricating wood rails?

I just built this in my daughter's closet. Is there anything I can rub on the horizontal rails to make the totes slide in an out smoother?

Cad choices?

How many of you use CAD or a 3D program to design your woodworking projects? What program(s) do you prefer. I have been a long time user of Sketchup because it's free. But I hate that they made it browser based. I haven't explored any of the other free ones. I don't do enough woodworking lately to justify a subscription. My current project I'm about to make will be cut out of 2' x 4' MDF. Do any programs out there have a cut layout function for maximizing the amount of leftover?
