Set up idea

Here's something I came up with for a KJ grill setup. The chicken is on now, but opinions please. Some critics say 2 zone grilling isn't possible. Yes, I used briquets, no lighter fluid, they're B&B. I'm not worried about it. Walled off about a 3rd of bowl area with fire brick. Piled charcoal behind brick, same as I do on Weber kettle. Half moon plate on top. Grill still sits down on top of divide and conquer, over the brick. Experiment

Straight edging wood studs

I have the straight edge plane and furr task. Some if these studs need a half inch or more taken out. Framers also didn't crown the boards. They were crowned and marked, but didn't pay any attention to that. 3x8 studs also. Nightmare

Chili lime Turkey jerky

Gemini AI helped me come up with this recipe. I like it. Came out with a lot of flavor. Used all brown sugar instead of honey, didn't want to go get some. 3 pounds of thick hand sliced turkey breast, quarter inch, more or less

Overnight marinade, dehydrator at 160f for 4 hours. 10 minutes in oven at 300f. Regular chile powder probably fine. I ground up mixture ancho, 9

guajillo, 9

puya 6

and arboll,6

The Dry Component

Measure these out and toss them straight into your marinade bowl:

4.5 tablespoons of your pure chili powder

1.5 tablespoons ground cumin

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1.5 teaspoons Mexican oregano (crushed fine)

1.5 teaspoons coarse sea salt

**1.5 teaspoons brown sugar

The Liquid Component

Whisk the dry mix above directly into:

3/4 cup soy sauce

6 tablespoons fresh lime juice

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

3 tablespoons honey

3/4 cup water

Weber kettle smoked jerky

Trying to come up with a better way to smoke jerky on Weber kettle grill. I smoke it a few hours and then finish on a dehydrator. I've tried just stacking the dehydrator racks. Didn't seem to get enough smoke. Hanging on skewers works ok. Still, it smokes the edges but doesn't get to the middle of the pieces. I think I need more of a tiered rack instead of all the skewers laying flat across the brick. Ideas and pics appreciated. Thanks

Unable to set up gen1 Chromecast

Google updated the home app and it won't set up my old Gen 1 Chromecast. I had changed the wifi on it to use at a hotel. Now changing back to home wifi, and I discover the set up is changed. Ive read their are work arounds, but so far, non have worked. I cleared data on home app and Google Play. Tried connection to the Chromecast itself. It was detected but couldn't connect. I've had it for years and enjoyed it. Shane on Google

Getting sued for minor rear end collision

I was involved in a rear end collision a little over 1 year ago. We exchanged information and drove off in our own directions. A year later, they have an attorney and have filed suit for lost wages, pain and suffering, medical costs, , etc. my insurance tells me they have made no demands for an amount of payment. They also tell me that other party was involved in a hit and run a few weeks after I was involved with them. Adjuster does not know when they first sought medical attention. My question is how long does this take and what is the likelihood that I'm sued for more than my police limits? My vehicle damage was $1600, with only $500 in parts. Other party damage was $1400. There was not enough force to set off air bags or bend the metal of their bumper. Only cracked the plastic bumper cover.

Ballots not put in the box at fair oaks library

Closest drop off was fair oaks library. Handed the nice lady my ballot, she put it on top of a large stack of other ballots blowing in the wind. I asked it to placed in the box. "It's full" they say. I am annoyed with this Edit- waited in line if cars to go through the library parking lot. Everyone was handing over there ballots. It was a pink ,soft, carry box. Not a hard metal drop box. I didn't like it, but filled the crowd. Then they I saw the stack they weren't putting on the carry case that had.

Extra long site fencing clamp bolts

As an employee, I keep a 9/16" deep socket ready with my cordless impact to take care of moving fencing around the site. Recently, the bolts that tighten clamps and panels together are longer than a regular deep socket. I assume for security? Problem is, that I can't find a socket long enough and end up cutting the bolts shorter to use my regular deep socket. This is probably something nobody thinks about, it has a been a huge problem. We have to move the fencing around pretty often. I am never there when the fence goes up, but the end up to having to deal with it. Where do I get these longer sockets? The clamp bolts are about 4 inch long .
