Just tried the Greer Amps Mori Drive for the first time. It’s basically a really interesting blend of Tube Screamer and Klon-style sounds, and I’m really happy with it so far. I think I’ve finally found a spot for it in this setup where everything works really well together. Still experimenting, but I’m loving it so far.
Two firefly, a squier, and a Fender. I hated JM’s my whole life, then I finally got it about two years ago.
The Telecaster actually started life as a Squier Paranormal, but I wanted to recreate the Telemaster from Totally Wired Guitars. I think it turned out really well. The neck is a current Vintera II Nocaster, and it’s probably my favorite part of the guitar.
The Stratocaster started as a Blacktop HSS. I wanted to bring it back to a more traditional SSS configuration, so I also swapped the neck for a Vintera II ’70s maple neck. I’m still not completely sold on it, though—I was really hoping for the deeper amber tint you see on the Fender American Vintage II ’73 Stratocaster necks.
What do you think of my pedalboard? Any suggestions?
I’ve been tweaking this board for a while and I think I’m getting close to where I want it, but I’d love to hear some opinions.
Current signal chain:
TU-3W → Xotic SP → Benson Germanium Preamp → Moog MF Drive → JAM Rattler MKII → EQD Barrows Fuzz → Diamond Tremolo → TC Stereo Chorus+ → EQD Ghost Echo → Boss DD-8 → Boss RE-202
Overall I’m pretty happy with it. The Benson and the MF Drive are probably my favorite gain pedals and they stack really well.
The one pedal I’m still not completely sold on is the Barrows Fuzz. I’ve tried it both before and after my other drives, but I still can’t get it to click. Maybe I’m just not using it the right way, or maybe it’s simply not the right fuzz for me.
I’ll also include a second photo with the pedals that are currently off the board: Boss DM-101 Delay Machine, Ibanez Echo Shifter, and Red Muck jam
If you had these pedals available, what would you swap in or out? Would you change the order of anything, replace a pedal, or remove something you think is redundant?
