I made a post awhile back saying what injectors I should get an all. I replaced the spark plugs before doing that because it had a cyl8 misfire. Injectors were cooked, 1 o ring was ready to fall into the cylinder and two didn’t come out with the injectors. I replaced them all and wow. After redoing my timing, adding a crank stud, billet OPG’s and crank sprocket, the filler neck alternator and these fuel injectors with oem ones this car has woken up.

Now here’s the dilemma. Car doesn’t smell like fuel from the front end at all anymore I walk up to it in the mornings no more fuel injectors leaking no solid pure 93 gas pump smell. Been fine for about a week.

Now Monday after the holiday weekend (no burnouts were done just an oil change yesterday) I feel like I smell a slight smell of 93 from the exhuast. Now note, I did fill it up yesterday. I replaced my filler neck because of the I think the code was p0401 the generic evap code. It wasn’t the purge valve so I did that and that cleared the smell. That smell was near the filler neck itself not the exhuast.

So now I’m just thinking maybe since I changed the plugs before doing injectors that plug might need cleaned in cylinder 8. Because it’s not a hot and insane fuel smell just a slight one walking right next to the rear of the car.

I’m gonna pull that spark plug on lunch today and see if it needs cleaned. If there is any other thoughts lmk! I thought maybe wrong fuel pressure but then again I feel the smell would be worse that’s why I’m thinking that spark plug might just need cleaned. (Picture of the car just for viewing)

Going to order off rock auto and get Bosch ones, but other then that till then… woke up, went to start the car and started up, felt sluggish fluctuating rpms and died. Started again and had to rev it a little to get all that get out, smelt like gas walking up to it and the vapors when revving while it was boggy starting.

Assuming it’s one of them (cyl 8) that the spark plug was worse than all the others on. Honestly though while I have it out I’ll replace all of them. I can roll down my window and smell gas here and there so I know it’s that. I already did the filler neck and purge valve for the actual code they threw.

Now this is the last hiccup. I should’ve been starting it in the winter here and there but never did these past three years. Catching up to me I guess… Oh well, we did timing opg’s crank sprocket and more last summer. Hopefully just injectors this summer 😭 here is a picture of the car for you all!

I replaced the spark plugs and coil packs, I think because I never run it during winter storage over the past three years and leaving it on e then starting it got to me finally 😩 now I don’t know what ones to get! If I get 52lb gt500 ones will I be okay or need a retune? I’ll put some pictures up of injectors I’ve saw online but want them to work good and well and maybe have a warranty? What should I get?

I have a 2012 6spd 5.0 for reference! American muscle uses Apremium parts which are the foreign ones I found out, they just have a big mark up. So what should I do? The car is fine now but I can tell Cyl 8 is rich and smell it here and there. I know that one because of the spark plug itself.

So I got this Mustang 2 years ago. A 2012 5.0 GT with a 6spd one of my childhood dream cars I could obtain and got it. 1,000 miles in after buying a phaser took a crap (chip on the inside of the phaser) and I redid the whole timing. Such a long tedious money consuming process but upgraded OPG’s, crank stud and gears. Redid the gas filler neck for the evap code and that fixed it cars perfect now for summer. Had it two years and haven’t even put over 3500 miles on it… it hurts I love the car when it runs solid. The engine clutch and trans were all replaced before I got it from a dealer with all the sheets and it looks solid.

I just got it out last week for the summer and warmed it up drove it around the block couple times never getting out of second gear.

Today I drive it with my fisnce and kiddo and the car has an intermittent misfire on cylinder 8, I thought maybe bad gas? It was on E from last years gas so I filled it with premium. Had an intermittent misfire on cylinder 8, check engine light would randomly blink here and there maybe 3-5 times in a 40 minute drive. It pulled nice, did a burnout nice, but every couple pulls it would blink so I figured it was a spark plug or coil pack. Here are the 4 spark plugs from that side of the engine. The cylinder 8 is all the way on the right at the start. Smells like fuel not oil more like fuel. I’m thinking maybe an injector if the spark plugs and coil packs I have ordered don’t fix it.

Hoping these spark plugs help but what do my fellow mechanics think? I’m a 24y/o just busting his ass in the dad life rebuilding classic cars for a living and trynna have a fun car the kiddo loves. Thank you for all your help, as I do all my work myself, my whole life never once took my car to a dealer. That timing job was a close one but I did it, and super proud how far I’ve come. Just these little things scare me after the timing job. My daily took a dump but it’s cheaper to fix the mustang if it’s just spark plugs, and more fun to drive. The other car needs some suspension and wheel work.

The other day I posted about the wood, I poured peroxide on it out of the tank multiple times then soaked it in tank water. I haven’t notice it change and that was Saturday night I did it, these are picture from today. I got timers for all my tanks and set them to all 8 hrs a day, today I got home and noticed the only fake plants I have have some darkness at the top is that BBA? Should I redo the peroxide, and do the fake plants as well? I just want it gone. I have peroxide and don’t wanna order excel because I’ve heard just peroxide is great out of the tank, what are your thoughts?
