Mod1A SBR is my new favorite weapon

Been picking up some new weapons over the last few months in preparation for the VA ban. MCX Rattler LT 8", Genesis 12, AK, Geissele Mod 1A, etc... In addition to my existing collection. So today I finally got to take them all out and get a few rounds through them. The Genesis 12 was also quite enjoyable, but I must say the Mod1A is my new favorite weapon. I only got a chance to put 10 rounds through it, but it's my new favorite rifle without question. As a lefty, the ambi controls are so nice, and it just shoots beautifully. Can't wait to get some more rounds through this thing and definitely need a proper optic. Now I understand what all the fuss was about

Range etiquette with a SBS?

I recently picked up a Genesis 12 7in SBS, and want to take it and some other new weapons out to test. It's obviously going to be on the louder side. Would it be bad etiquette to shoot on the xcal open range? Would prefer not to spend extra on a private lane if acceptable

Are DIY safe enhancements viable?

I'm curious about budget options that could enhance safe security and fire protection, while also minimizing cost. I have seen some examples where they have been enclosed in concrete. Would purchasing a safe with a tl-30 door/moderate fire rating then encasing it in rebar/concrete be an effective way to increase security and fire resistance? Maybe some Rockwood as well?

I planted some small Pillar Arborvitae saplings approximately 6 weeks ago, and a few are leaning pretty significantly. Should I correct this, and if so how? Replant or staking? Thanks in advance for any suggestions
