Anyone know some great vets for FIV+ cats?

I’m based on the far south side and so far, I am not impressed with the vets my FIV+ kitty has seen. I don’t want to get into it but they’ve been largely unhelpful or inexperienced in FIV.

My little dude was a street cat before he decided to move in and I just want to get the best care possible. Idc if I need to travel. I just want someone who can give me good advice!

Just became a notary! I’m curious. What are your weird notorization stories?

I got notarized so I could stamp and sign financial documents at work 🫠 I think it would be more fun if I was out and about in the field and since I won’t be, I’d love to hear some of your stories! Funky locations, weird people, etc…. Lay it on me!

I have Saturn in the 10th house and I need his bitch ass to HURRY UPPPPPPP [astro.com]

To make matters worse …. It’s Saturn in TAURUS. CONJUNCT WITH THE MOON

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I CANNOT BE POOR FOR MUCH LONGER. TELL HIM I’M WAITING AND HAVE BEEN FOR AGEEEEEES.

I’M 27 AND I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT I WANT MY CAREER TO BE YET SO AT THIS RATE IM GONNA BE 40 BEFORE I AM MY FULL CAREER BADDIE SELF

WHY WAS I SO LAZY AS A YOUNG WOMANNNNN?!?!!

in all seriousness ….. I want a sense of purpose and I’m so tired of surviving and hoping it will come to me via my experiences soon. I know I could be really amazing and out of this world if I just found myself and I think because of that, it’s frustrating feeling so nerfed and mediocre. How can I make this placement work for me?

How do I learn how to push back and stand up for myself?

I grew up in an abusive household and learned how to shrink so as not to rock the boat during my childhood.

As an adult, this has become a huge problem.

I am constantly getting feedback at work that I need to push back more and unfortunately, bullies are still very much a thing for me. I can clock when someone is doing something shady or making a pointed remark but it’s like I become paralyzed with fear. I don’t say anything. I feel like I’ll burst into tears because of the stress of being faced with someone that has bad intentions. And who knows how deep those bad intentions run? When I get home or process it later, I get so angry and so many good responses come to mind. I just fawn in the moment and can’t think of them.

How did you learn how to stand up for yourself? If you relate to my feeling of fawning in the moment, what stopped that? I’m looking for advice if you’ve got it.

Stuck in a weird bureaucratic loop while transferring microchip. Idk what to do next.

My husband and I took in the sweetest stray cat back in March. Or rather… he adopted us. He walked into our house one day, made himself at home, and has never wanted to leave.

When we took him to the vet, we found out he was microchipped. The chip belongs to someone who was managing a local feral colony and microchipping/neutering stray cats. The vet contacted the person listed on the chip, who confirmed they were the colony caretaker and not his owner.

I also reached out to the caretaker myself back in March and have never received a response.

Now I’m trying to transfer the microchip into my name so that if he ever gets out, he’ll be returned to us.

Here’s where I’m stuck:

- 24PetWatch says they need documentation from my veterinarian. Specifically a letter with the microchip number on it and my name.
- My veterinarian says they aren’t the authority on ownership and that 24PetWatch needs to contact the registered owner for permission.

I’m basically being bounced back and forth between the two with no clear next step. Very much giving being told to ask your dad for permission by your mom and he tells you to ask your mom instead.

For additional context, this cat is extremely social and very obviously isn’t living as a feral cat anymore. He’s been exclusively indoors with us for months, is fully vetted, vaxed against rabies and FVRCP and has become part of our little baby man. He also has FIV from his time on the street and we’ve been to the vet four times to get him to the state of health he’s in rn. I love him so much and I’m just trying to make sure that if he ever escaped, he’d have the best chance of finding his way back home.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? What did you do? Is there another step I’m missing?

I’m so fucking tired

Everything takes so much effort.

Wake up. Find something to eat. Drink water. 3 tasks. So many steps.

Wash my face so I don’t get old.
Have anxiety about getting old because I’ve spent so much of my life depressed.

Do makeup so no one can call me ugly.

Do it on the train because I’m too tired to get up early enough to do it at home.

Go to work. Brace myself. Check my texts. Bill and then another bill. No money for niche hobby. Brace myself. Another bill is due next week.

Go to a meeting. We have to do X, Y, and Z.
& No one stops talking about what we have to do and the problems at hand.
Muster up all my remaining morsels of self to look like I care.

I need my job.
I love my job.

Go to lunch. Come back. Finish the day.
Marvel at the fact I did it.

Get on the train.
Brace myself.
Go home.
So many steps.

Home is dinner.
Home is also where the bed is.
Husband directs me away.
Husband needs me and I need him but I am so tired.

4 hours in bed at the end of the day before sleeping isn’t enough.
But I’m also so lonely the entire time that I’m laying there.

Brace myself for another day.
So much more to do before the weekend. Before two days of bed.

Stay up late so that I have more time to lay in bed.

Lament that I cannot freeze time.
I would hit pause and lay in bed for ages and ages and ages.
Bed is safe.
There is nothing to do but rest.
I want nothing to do but rest.
Everything else takes too much and I have nothing to give.

I am so tired.
