Whether or not to keep history private on reddit

I consider myself to be an activist in the sense that I will speak up when everything in my body is screaming against it, whether that be being an introvert, or being autistic, I deliberately go against my instincts sometimes and speak up for what I know in my heart needs to be said no matter how hard it is for me to do so.

Lately I've noticed I'm being followed by bots. I'm one of those pattern-recognizing autists.

I've always felt that it's important to be transparent, especially as a moderator. "This is who I am, this is what I think, and I have no ill will towards anyone."

But now I'm being targeted for my views by very resource-rich entities.

In writing this I've already decided not to back down, and keep everything public.

But I'm curious how the community feels about private profiles on reddit.

Can we have a conversation about the CICO (calories in, calories out) fallacy?

This fallacy is based on some very poorly thought out WWII-era science in the late 1940s and 1950s, sponsored by food companies, and meant to support war related famine austerity measures.

The truth is, we have a tube going through our bodies from mouth to anus. Not everything makes it into your bloodstream. And everyone's body works differently, based on genetic factors as well as gut microbiome.

For example, some people are sensitive to soy, while others are sensitive to gluten. And everything in between. The exact form of soy (tofu vs edamame vs processed foods), or gluten (seitan vs tvp vs nooch vs processed foods).

The idea of CICO and focusing on macros is deeply oversimplified and debunked by modern science. Yet it still pervades all discussions about fitness and nutrition.

There's so many Gym Bros thinking that it's legit.

True nutrition is very personal, and based on your own genetics and microbiome.

[Apology/vent] I was not allowed to take mod actions for the last 3 days

I made a post, where a foreigner was asking what Americans will do about our government. I answered that v1ol3ence would end badly, and that a g3ner@l str1ke was the only possible resistance we citizens have. I also said as an aside, a true fact reported in f0r3e1n press, that members of our government were being bl@ckm@1led by a particular for31n g0vernm3nt. Which is a true objective fact, again bragged about in f0r31in press.

I was 8nst@banned by r3dd1t for 3 days on 4th July. Which is so ironic.

More interesting is there's plenty of people who actually made calls for v19l3ence instead of against like me, and they didn't get banned for h@t3.

Anyway, just explaining why reddit admins violated free speech causing me to not be able to do my job as mod.

I hope it didn't affect anyone as harshly as it affected me.

I took a very long bus ride across the city and noticed that things everywhere look kinda the same

Very old, run down, abandoned buildings. Commercial for lease signs and residential for rent signs everywhere.

Greedy landlords would rather have buildings sit empty for a decade than charge ACTUAL market price instead of their fantasy inflated prices.

This city has become a husk.

Can anyone explain to me why it's not possible, in 2026, to download or view the voter's guide that gets mailed?

Lavote.gov, the "ISB", **could not possibly be more useless**

In the mail you get a voter's guide, printed. But it is literally **impossible** to download the *same exact guide* online. In 2026.

The "Interactive Sample Ballot" on lavote.gov is neither Interactive, nor Sample, and barely Ballot. If you click the "more information" icon, it literally just directs you, no matter which Ballot question you click, to a generic list of party endorsements, despite the fact that to even view the ISB, you have to look up your specific district.

No information. No statements of candidates. No pro or against arguments for Ballot measures. **LITERALLY NONE OF THE INFORMATION THAT IS MAILED TO VOTERS**

NOT EVEN A PDF OF WHAT IS MAILED TO VOTERS.

**it's simply not available online**

**in 2026**

Seriously, WTAF.

"We were treated like animals"

It's a frequent refrain of abuse survivors. No one stops to think, maybe non-human animals also *should not be abused*, but it is so normalized

😢😭
