Any MAFS fans willing to test something I made?

Watching the relationship challenges on MAFS Australia gave me an idea. Specifically it was the Tyson and Stephanie one do you remember it?

I built an app that gives couples one new challenge every day to help them spend a little more intentional time together.

A few examples:

Go into separate rooms, record a one-minute voice message telling your partner what you love most about them, then come back together and listen to them.

Make a pizza completely from scratch together (this is a weekend one).

Watch Dirty Dancing and kiss every time someone says "Baby."

Every challenge only lasts for that day. Both partners have to agree before it unlocks, and if you skip it, a brand-new challenge arrives the next day.

I'm looking for a few couples to give me completely honest feedback.

The app costs US$1.99/month (there is a free 7 day trial so just download and cancel straight away so you are never changed and can mess around with it for 7 days)

📱 If you're on Samsung/Android, I'd especially appreciate a few extra testers as it's still technically in Google's testing program (although once installed, it works just like a normal app).

iPhone users are absolutely welcome too.

If you'd like to check it out, send me a DM and I'll send you the link.

I'd love to hear what you like, what you don't like

Or if you do not download the app just write in here what challenges you'd love to see added I might have them as I have 100s stored already but open to add more and more!

I wanted to see if MAFS relationship challenges worked in real life.

One thing I always found interesting watching MAFS was the relationship challenges.

Not because they magically fixed struggling couples, but because they got people laughing, talking, opening up and simply spending intentional time together.

So I spent the last 3 months or so building an app called The Glue. Which is stupid because the app is super basic.

The problem with many relationships is pretty simple.

Life gets busy.

Work happens.

Before you know it, you're watching TV together... but not really together more like roommates.

The Glue is designed to help couples stick a little closer together through one simple challenge each day.

Every day, you and your partner receive one brand new challenge.

You both you have to agree before the challenge unlocks. If one of you isn't feeling it that day, that's completely fine—you simply skip it.

If you both say yes, you complete it that day, because tomorrow a brand new challenge arrives.

Some challenges make you laugh.

Some make you flirt.

Some make you talk.

Some simply get you off the couch together.

A few examples...

🎙️ Go into separate rooms and record a one-minute voice message telling your partner what you love most about them. Then come back together and listen to them side by side.

🍕 Make a pizza completely from scratch together. No takeaway allowed. (Definitely one for the weekend.)

💃 Watch Dirty Dancing together and kiss every time someone says "Baby."

🚶 Go for a walk together with one rule... no talking about work, bills or chores and you must hold hands.

❤️ Tell your partner one thing they've done recently that made you feel loved—even if they don't realise they did it.

I actually built this for my own relationship first.

My partner and I have been using it while I've been developing it, and it's honestly become something we look forward to. Some challenges have made us laugh, some have started conversations we probably wouldn't have had otherwise, and some have simply reminded us to put our phones down and spend quality time together.

Will it magically save relationships?

Absolutely not.

But if it helps couples laugh a little more, talk a little more, and stick together just a little better, then I'll be pretty happy.

I've attached a few screenshots so you can see how it works.

Just to be completely transparent...

• It costs US$1.99/month for both partners**.** I'd rather be upfront about that than pretend it's free. It's the cost of half a cup of coffee per month to better your relationship (there is a 7 day free trial nothing to lose!). The money helps me keep things going, no huge profit making going on here!

iPhone:

Samsung / Android:

Android is technically still in Google's closed testing, but once you've installed it, you honestly wouldn't know the difference—it works exactly like any other app.

I'm genuinely looking for feedback.

Would you use something like this?

What challenges would you add?

What would make you download (or delete!) an app like this?

And if you think the idea is completely ridiculous... I'd genuinely like to hear that too. 😄

Appreciate you reading. It has been mostly well received so far and fingers crossed that continues!

MAFS accidentally inspired me to build an app 😂

Bit of a random one...

After watching way too many seasons of MAFS, I started noticing something. The couples who seemed strongest weren't necessarily the most compatible. They were the ones actually putting effort into the relationship.

The experts are always giving them little tasks, challenges, questions, intimacy exercises, date nights, communication activities etc. Some are cringe, some are great, but they force couples to actually connect.

It got me thinking...

Why do couples only seem to do this stuff when they're on a reality TV show?

So I ended up building a little app called The Glue.

Every day it gives couples one simple challenge to complete together. Nothing crazy. Things like:

  • Hold eye contact for two minutes
  • Recreate your first date at home
  • Watch a movie and hold hands the entire time
  • Ask each other questions you'd never normally ask
  • Leave a surprise note somewhere they'll find it

The idea isn't relationship counselling or fixing broken relationships. It's just creating small moments that stop couples from becoming roommates.

My partner and I have actually been using it ourselves and it's been surprisingly fun and connected us that little bit more.. or as I like say Glued us together more.

Curious... if you MAFS experts could give real-world couples one challenge they should do every day, what would it be?

And what's the best challenge you've seen on MAFS that actually made sense?

I am keen just to add more challenges I have over 100 at the moment.

Some memorable ones have been:

  1. making pizza from scratch together

  2. Saying 3 things we appreciate about each other

  3. Playing a song that reminds us of each other.

Hope to hear a few ideas!

Glen
