From out of the Dark Wood come the Spiders!

As I’d the bases lying around and the Wargames Atlantic Spiders on a sprue I thought I’d better get them ready so I can actually use them! I was worried they’d be too small for the bases but I think they fill them out nicely.
I still want to add a few tufts but I’ve to make ‘em first! Still these are definitely ready for battle.

and now the Forge

I’m still building up my terrain for Traitors Toll. Here’s the second building made from XPS foam. I still have to find the right forge pieces to place in the adjoining workshop. I’ve seen a few but none look right for what I want.

First Game

I’ve had the rules and the models painted for ages, finally got a game in just before the new edition comes out!
It was such fun, easy to understand, intuitive and flowed really well. Those Elven cavalry withstood a huge amount of attacks and dominated the field.

Full Rank

What counts as a full rank for Trolls and Ogres? If I start with three models and that gets reduced do they suffer a modifier for less than a full rank?
What happens if I only start the game with two models?

Heavy Orcs

I decided I needed to bolster my Orc force, picked up some new infantry and got them painted up over the course of the week.

I didn’t feel they were that much more armoured than the standard kit, but they’ll suffice I think!

Clan Wolf

I’ve really no clue if I did these correctly… I spotted a scheme online that looked like fun and I went with that. I’ve played since the early nineties but very casually and with not much knowledge of the game fluff. I just know the clans are the bad guys!

Space Fighter

Ever since the game came out I’ve wanted a ship for my crew, you k ow something to get them to and from each of the skirmishes they fight. I tried getting one of the BuzzLightyear Armadillo ships but never saw any of them locally. I did spot this one last week and decided to get it, it was only €2 after all. A quick paint job later and this will do for some great terrain.

Big Mutant

Well I wasn’t sure what model to go for when it came to a big mutant, looking at the stats it could literally be anything! So I decided on an enormous wolf and picked up this warg from Reaper Miniatures. I think a legend has been born in the Zone!

The Well...

A while back we ran a long campaign in the club in Hamburg for Frostgrave and one of the first buildings I made was the well. I got it a little carried away and ended up with a large covered well. The roof comes off to let play continue on the inside.
I actually don't remember if we ever rolled up the scenario but we had a lot of fun pushing wizards into the water!

Just getting started in Hamburg

I am just getting into Greathelm. The game has intrigued me a lot since I saw it previewed on Guerilla Miniatures. As the board requirements are so small I thought I might get started with that and so I bought a picture frame. I wanted it to be versatile and so I came up with the idea of making it double sided. The cobble side is flush with the edge of the frame which gave me a little more depth on the opposite side where I could add some texture and taller grass.

I will be bringing this to the club soon to demo the game and see if any of the other guys are tempted to get into it.

Traitors Toll

I’m eager to get to play Traitors Toll but I need a city first. Here’s my first building made from XPS foam. The windows I got from Tabletop Art.
I’m pretty happy with how it came out. I added greenstuffed heraldry to the front for an extra pop of colour and to indicate the profession of the inhabitants.
Now I just need about twelve more to fill the board up!
