Visiting Detroit soon.. would appreciate your help.
Hello everyone,
I am visiting Detroit soon with a friend of mine for doing an elective medical practice in Detroit Medical Center (DMC) for a duration of about 2 months (starting at beginning of September and ending at 22 of October).
I was hoping if any of you could help us with any useful information or advice in general regarding our stay.
We managed to find a place to stay for about 3,700$ total, the place has two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, clothes washing machine, clothes dryer machine.. literally perfect for us.. do you think this is a good deal?
Also we are planning to rent a car! Any recommendations where to rent we really need a good price, hoping for about 500$/months would be good (although still little pricey)
Another thing, we are both Arabs and I know already that Arabs have a big community in Detroit, so for all Arabs out there, your help would be great! DM is open for anything you might consider informing us.
One last thing, we are planning to go to Chicago to visit a friend and stay there about a week, how can we go and save money? I heard there is a train that can get us there for 40$.. is it the best out there or we can find something more affordable yet still good and comfortable?
Lastly, what are things that we should do in Detroit, like we can’t miss these things to have fun; a must-do-when-in-Detroit?
