Would this playing field design work in irl play?
So the game I'm making is heavily inspired by Tetra Master (Final Fantasy IX). Basically, it's a game where left-right and the direction of cards matter A LOT because the whole battle system relies on directional arrows each cards have. Not only that, cards would flip ownership many times. But when I playtested it by myself, I ran into a major problem. People usually play TCG facing each other, thus each player's left and right are different.
The first playing field I came up with is Picture 1, which doesn't work because placing cards with different direction would break the game. So I came up with Picture 2 which would solve the left-right problem because the main playing field is now separated and rotated to work universally.
What do you think?
I appreciate any advice, thoughts, and ideas! Thank you in advance.
