What books should I get for CoC?

I've been meaning to get into CoC for a while, and snagged a copy of the 50th Anniversary set so I'd have the basic Investigator and Keeper books. In addition to this I also got Pulp Cthulhu (Just seemed like fun) and Horrors on the Orient Express (it was on sale at my local FLGS).

  • Do I need to get any settings books like 'Down Darker Trails', 'Berlin' or 'Arkham'?
  • If I wanted to play solo, do I need to get physical copies of the 'Alone Against the....' books? (I already have digital copies of all these)
  • What's the best 'one-shots' collection I can get like 'Mansions of Madness' or something else?
  • Any third-party books you would recommend as superior or on par with first-party content?

Edit:

NOTE: I'm aware that I may be jumping into the deep end, without even a group to play this with yet, but I'm just excited.

Vampire the Masquerade lore materials

I just got into Vampire as part of a Dark Ages campaign and I'm quite interested in the modern day setting as well.

Perhaps in a fit of fiscal irresponsibility, I've gone ahead and purchased the following books:

* VtM 5th Ed Core Rulebook

* VtM 5th Ed Player's Guide

* VtM 5th Ed The Crimson Gutter

* VtM 5th Ed Chicago by Night

I saw several other books pertaining to Anarch, Camarilla and others, but I'm not sure what they were pertaining to.

I have 2 fundamental questions:

* Are the books I have Smith enough for me to even run games as a storyteller?

* Are there any other 5th edition books you were recommend next, or as absolutely essential?

Recommendations on lore reading for Dark Ages

I recently started playing in a Vampire Dark Ages campaign and just finished a small story set in Jerusalem (Fountains of Bright Crimson). We're now in/near Transylvania on a different mission (just continuing with the characters from the previous campaign). Since I started off as someone completely new to the system, the GM created a character for me (Brujah Soldier for Hire).

I've sort of stumbled my way through Merits and Flaws, Sires, Mentors, Ghouls (of which I have none), Allies/Contacts, etc. but I'd like to understand more about the lore so that I can make meaningful contributions towards the story of the campaign.

I'm also not sure how to 'level up' my character, but that's something I can also get my GMs advice on.

Note: I'm not familiar with the acronyms, so if anyone can let me know what flair I should select, that'd be great.

LotR and Studio Ghibli book recommendations

If I can only buy 1 each of the following categories of art books, what would you all recommend as an excellent item that's worth it's current cost:

* Art based on The Lord of the Rings books

* Art of The Lord of the Rings movies

* Art of the Studio Ghibli movies

Edit: Couldn't update the title unfortunately

* Art from the animated Disney movies

* Art from the Pixar movies

Honestly, I'm looking for books that have a bigger focus on the artwork itself. It's fine even if there's little to no text.

I have a Synology NAS that contains shared folders containing some videos that I want to add to my Plex server.

Using sudo mount, I mapped the NFS shared folders on the NAS to a folder in my mnt folder

I couldn't change ownership of these new folders after mapping them to the network drive (they were previously owned by my user, but got switched to root after I mapped the network drives)

I was then told I need to add an entry in my /etc/fstab file, which I've done for other external hard drives that I've connected directly to the server itself. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find the UUID for the NAS drives, as they aren't showing up in the sudo blkid list.

Any advice from this sub about a reasonable price for this? It includes:

* Logitech G923 Wheel + Pedals

* Logitech Driving Force Gear Shifter

* Best Buy Insignia Racing Frame

The price for these put together on the 2nd hand market seems to be around $400 - $450, so I thought $350 - $380 was an ok price.

It's all in working condition and very lightly used.
