Is Janitor AI speedrunning the exact same downfall as other platforms?

The primary reason for the explosion of JAI was that other platforms messed up their user experience. Now JAI has joined the bandwagon - cluttered mobile banners, broken layouts, models that regress with every update. Story retention and interface stability have to take precedence. What is holding you back from leaving?

Stop forcing the mobile app banner on browser users

There is nothing that will spoil the mobile browsing more than the constantly popping up window asking for downloading the application. People will install applications if they are really interested in it. Placing banner right on top of the chat interface is not going to work; it only annoys visitors when they try to use the service via browser.

Stop screaming at JAI mods and start keeping receipts

If you're sick of bots vanishing and memory collapsing after 15 messages, angry comments won't fix it. Start taking screenshots of vague bans, note the dates, and save your proof. If we want transparent moderation and working memory, we need actual receipts, not just outrage

Why do all JAI bots turn into the exact same guy after 30 messages?

Regardless of how individual each character card is in its initial form, it turns out that all bots end up falling back on the same dramatic pauses, pet names, and overly formal and flowery speech. It is either that JLLM is seeping into them, or am I infecting them all with the same personality flaw

Have you ever had a bot actually argue with your opinion?

So used am I to having bots validate whatever message I send that when one contradicted me today, I was lost for words. Has this ever happened to y'all or do you simply swipe at the slightest sign of contradiction from any bot?

Once you switch to a good proxy, going back to default JLLM feels impossible

I held out on using proxies for the longest time because setting up API keys felt like a hassle, but once you actually experience a decent proxy with proper context memory, default JLLM feels like talking to a brick wall. The difference in formatting, lore retention, and actual vocabulary is night and day. For the people still using standard default JLLM, what’s holding you back from setting up a proxy?

Paying isn't the issue it's paying for an AI that keeps getting dumber

People keep saying "servers cost money, just support the devs!" and missing the entire point. Most of us have zero problem paying for hobbies we actually enjoy. The frustration is being asked to pay for an AI that feels worse than it was six months ago. Fix the memory loss, stop the looping, and give us a model that actually holds a plot, and people will happily throw money at the site. Deliver the quality first.

Y'all's extreme kinks are the reason JAI is filtering itself to death

let's be real for a second. the devs aren't adding filters just to ruin our fun—they're doing it because half this userbase is into the most unhinged, pitch-black taboo stuff imaginable. you literally cannot run a massive public website with zero rules without getting shut down. they have to sanitize the site just to keep the lights on. it sucks that we're losing our freedom, but honestly? we pushed the limits way too far and brought this on ourselves.

Is censorship or creator bans the main reason people are leaving JAI?

To me, they feel totally connected. When popular creators get banned or their bots get routinely taken down, users naturally follow them to other sites. It's like a streaming service if you subscribed for specific shows and the site keeps removing them, why stay? Having thousands of generic or niche bots you don't care about doesn't make up for losing the creators you actually came for

subscription isn't the issue, it's the complete lack of real fixes

honestly, most people wouldn't even mind a subscription plan if the site actually worked properly. but ignoring long-standing bugs, dropping useless UI updates, and then slapping limits on free users without actually improving the LLM or memory is just frustrating. why do AI platforms keep repeating the exact same mistakes?

does it feel like the devs are just completely ignoring us at this point?

no hate to the team, but genuinely what is going on with communication on this site? we ask for memory fixes, actual bug fixes, and better context control, and instead we get random UI tweaks nobody asked for. thousands of people complain about the same issues for months and it just feels like shouting into a void. is anyone else super frustrated by this?

hot take: Janitor AI is deleting the main reason everyone came here in the first place

we literally all came here to get away from censors and soft refusals lol. sanitizing the site just pushes out the exact people who made it popular in the first place. once the freedom is gone, why would anyone even stick around?

How are you backing up your Janitor AI chats?

i have accumulated a lot of long rp chats on janitor ai and im super worried about losing them if the servers go down or an update wipes everything, i wanna backup my chats locally on my pc so i have a saved copy just in case

are there any working browser extensions userscripts or python scripts to export chats in bulk right now?

also what file formats like json txt or html are best to keep the formatting looking right?

Any help would be great thanks!

Janitor AI in the old days was peak

man i miss when janitor had zero filters and free proxies actually worked fine. back then you could pick any bot and the ai would just go all in without pulling back or giving those annoying "I can't continue this" messages mid scene. now its constant soft refusals and proxy errors unless you jump through a million hoops. everything feels so watered down now
